Top customer reviews
We are mostly pleased with these phones. When we have a call come in to our main line, we have 3 assigned phones that are to ring. All 3 ring fine, but when we pick up the call on one specific phone there is no dial tone. The call continues to ring on the other 2 phones. This has become an annoyance for our staff. We have tried several remedies, including ordering a new piece from Ooma, plugging the new piece and phone base into a different outlet (we thought the one outlet was bad) and this issue is still happening. We have had to resort to buying a new phone because we think this one is defective. Motorola manufacturer support has been helpful, but we can't seem to figure out why this is happening.
When using the phones, we are pleased with how they function. Transferring calls, voicemail, dialing, and the like works fine.
MAY 2016 UPDATE: One main issue we have with these phones is they go dead once a day. This could be caused by our phone provider (Ooma). We go to take a call and there is no dial tone. If we unplug the phone, wait, and then plug it back in it then works. I have not been able to find a fix for this from Motorola or Ooma. Both give me the run around and say call the other.
AUGUST 2016 UPDATE: Phone provider software had to be updated to stop the issues I mentioned before.
From the front of my house to the edge of the garage is about 150 feet, which seems to be the absolute max before the handset loses connection to the base. Call quality starts to degrade somewhere around the back door (according to callers), at roughly 100 feet. I have no problem roaming around our three stories, though.
The intercom/pager function is cool. Gone are the days I have to walk around the house to discuss plans with my roommates, as I can just page their handset!
Time and date syncs between all handsets. The phone book does not, so I have to use *my* handset to make calls. Am I expecting too much from dated technology?
Bottom line: These phones are inexpensive and they look great, but the volume issue is a real annoyance at times. Don't get these if your cell phone volume is up all the way.
