I just received this. I bought it because it was inexpensive and had all of the functions I wanted plus the very important three times the minutes plus 3 months when loaded with a card. You may consider a year but I buy every few months so I don't need it. Really will save you money. .Easy to hook up with Tracfone despite some who have reposted a problem. Easy to transfer my contacts, set up for my specification and start up. Like the concept of Tracfone and this is my third phone. Most of the phones lasted longer than I could have hoped for. All phones are easy to use and really will save a considerable amount of money even if you like to text and go on-line. I will see if there are other options for home phones. Great company but go on-line to have your questions answered.
The reason for a 4 was due to the very small buttons and weird configuration for zero. Other than that, I like it.
I will update after I use it.

First thing with any of these tracfones you must turn off the airtime and service time display. It keeps pinging tracfone and will eat your minutes up even though you are not using this. Luckily I read about this before I bought these but I am making sure this is the first thing I say in this review, go to Menu > Prepaid > Airtime Display and disable both the Balance and Due Date displays. This will stop the minute leeching many people complain about, and it's a very valid complaint. You can check your minutes and how many service days you have left any time you want for free by going to Menu > Prepaid > My Airtime Info
Now that is out of the way, I bought a few of these for $3 each with Amazon Add-On shipping rate on a Prime shipping order. If one gets damaged I can transfer my account to the next one, if I lose one it's just the minutes and the $3 phone lost. Triple minutes for life makes this a great deal. A 60-minute card with a 60-minute bonus code you can find on Google turns to 240 minutes, plus a few bonus minutes if activating a new phone. These appear to be new-in-box and never sold, but they could have been repackaged in the factory too. One I opened looks new in every way. Comes with battery and charger, card with info to activate the phone and an old bonus minutes packet that expired in 2013. Be sure to look up tracfone promo codes on Google you will get lots of hits immediately, no need to pass up on 60 or more free minutes when they charge $20 for 60 minute cards at the store. Activation online with Tracfone went smooth but I had to wait 10 minutes before it would work to test it after activating.
As for the phone itself, what do you expect? It's not a smartphone. It's a fairly simple phone. By default if left on main display with the clock it will lock the keypad after several seconds preventing accidental use, you press a top key and a bottom key to unlock the pad. Tiny keys but it's a mostly-full keypad, numbers are intergrated into the left-middle. Much better than the LG Tracfone that has a touchscreen but still uses the 9-key deal where you press 3 times to get the letter C. That makes this phone superior for the cheap triple-minute phones when it comes to texting. It has a calculator you can work with, a calender and an alarm. Stuff that can be handy when needed, nothing fancy but would have been cool when I was a kid. Camera is nothing special, don't plan on using it much but it isn't shoddy quality. This phone is simple enough that it actually powers on really fast if you have it turned off, about 10 seconds at most. It isn't cheap feeling as I was expecting, this is a very good deal for anyone wanting a phone to keep around for minimal use or to keep with a vehicle in case of emergency.

I bought this for an emergency phone and tried to activate. The automation way seemed to get me through until "Sorry we have to transfer you" I was then transfer to someone that spoke very, very poorly. Wanted to sell me minutes and than asked for my credit card. After 15-20 min of this pain she agreed to send a new sim but the connection was horrible and I was reluctant to give her anything. Bottom line - This sim should be advertised as out of date. Throwing this in the trash.

I purchased these two phones and had trouble loading them. I have purchase this model several times so this time I bought 2. I attempted to load one of the phones on October 19, 2019, and my minutes have not yet been transferred to my phone. Tracphone advised me that the phone will not be usable after December, 2019. I contacted the seller through Amazon and was advised that the phones could not be returned. Tracphone would not take the phones as a trade in because I did not buy them from tracphone. The public should be advised in some manner about the phase out of some of the tracphones.

5 stars for the price alone. Not usre what it is now, but I paid like $3. I keep one in my home and one in the car for 911 access (you can always call 911 even without paying for a plan).
I also keep a $20 tracfone credit ready to go in case I lose my phone and need a replacement quickly. The card doesn't expire and service lasts 90 days once you activate the code on your phone (and you get 180 minutes).
It cost $7 a month to keep it active with the minimum 180 minutes a month (60 minute card with the triple minute benefit) so its great for an emergency phone for kids or anyone else.
Its also possible to use without divulging any personal information if you are privacy concerned.

phone came fast.this phone is terrible.will not work at my shop(old worked fine) has dead spots everywhere.Only has one ring tone that at full volume can be hardly heard when phone in pocket.Already ordered a different phone(diff brand) if this one doesn't work well I will have my 5 year old flip phone reactivated.I ordered this phone for the key board(as I text a lot). When it has reception works ok. note* this phone works on same band as old one (G) net work. This my last Motorola phone. It took 4 days and 5, 30 min. plus phone calls to the tech. dept to get my phone number and minutes transferred and the phone to work for more than a half of the day.The tech dept did get it to work and they were very nice to deal with.

The price was great and the triple minutes are nice. The keyboard is small. For me, it is difficult to type on it quickly, but I am so used to typing on a smart phone (or swiping on it, I should say). This is my back-up phone. Strangely enough, Tracfone has a much better signal in my area than my former carrier, and even my present one. I'm not sure what network they ride on where I live, but I wish I knew so I could switch to that carrier. Always make sure that you check your minutes before you renew and after, just in case there's in an error in what is credited when you buy minutes.
