Cannot update software or security patches due to incompatibility with provider
The package arrived on time for once, and the packaging (besides a few small dents and blemishes on the packaging) was very good and the product was perfect. Among many other Motorola devices I have owned, tested and reviewed, this device is in a league of its own with the most recent specs, one of the most vibrant and fastest performing displays ever found in a Motorola device! It has a 144Hz refresh rate and only very high end flagship devices have a 120Hz display refresh rate so to see a device that can’t be called a “flagship” device but can’t be called a “midrange” device is something of a very peculiar phenomenon. One that I’m not complaining about. The phone has a very good 6.6” 1080x2040p display with a very high 1,200 nits brightness that is absolutely stunning. The size is a bit too big for my taste but the width is a bit better at typing one handed compared to other devices at this size. The weight is almost as if you’re holding an iPhone mini due to the beautiful amrid fiber backing that prevents any fingerprint oils, is extremely scratch resistant and is just aesthetically pleasing to look at. The sides are made of an aerospace grade aluminum frame that is polished to look like a black metal and is outright the most durable device on the market for this device doesn’t even need a phone case due to its above military grade drop protection and it’s IP68 rated that makes it water resistant, unlike other Motorola devices on the market that barely have splash resistant protection. The screen is made from Corning gorilla glass victus that can withstand heavy scratches and can withstand a drop of 2.2 meters with no harm from the fall. I’d still recommend using a screen protector for maximum safety and piece of mind. The device is up to date with the latest UI which is Android 14 and currently runs the latest security update. It’s the most feature packed device on Android that has a slew of new security features that aren’t on any other Android, despite the latest version. Only problem is that it is currently incompatible with my service provider and I have tried every troubleshooting solution available and have even spoken with Motorola and my provider (straight talk) about this issue and they said that it’s compatible with all of the four big carriers but might be incompatible with other prepaid services as of this moment. Will be returning, unfortunately but please give this device a try. It’s true that Motorola has gotten a pretty bad reputation as far as security updates that arrive months after their discovered and the every Motorola device is only eligible for one OS update and 2-3 years of security patches, and take a long time to get to the devices, but with this device, you will receive security patches on the same level as Samsung devices and you will get updates for four years from the 2-3 that Motorola has released before, along with full Android OS updates from Android 13-16 guaranteed! For the amazing low price of this rare gem, this device rivals even the best Samsung and google pixel phones available on the market. What is not as impressive as the other Android phones are the cameras. Don’t get me wrong, the camera setup is amazing for a Motorola phone and I dare say that it is the best Motorola device to produce such quality images. It can even shoot video in 8K 30FPS, but I advise you to stick with the 4K 30FPS HDR. Flagship display, flagship processor, and a very robust set of security features built into the hardware itself to prevent phishing attacks and ensure that your device is secure and monitored 24/7I have previously owned this device which is why I know so much about this product and this is coming from an avid iOS user. This is the ONLY Android device that has made me think of switching from iOS. Unfortunately I would consider contacting your carrier to see if your device is compatible with the ThinkPhone prior to purchasing the product.Features-10/10Design is a solid 10/10Durability is off the charts-10/10And the value for the money is a no brainer for a 10/10Overall I rate this a 9.8/10Due to the incompatibility with my carrier but would I recommend this to anyone who has been wanting to buy it? I’d say jump for it! You will not be disappointed in the slightest for the price point.
I've had this phone for a week, and so far I'm extremely impressed for paying $370. This phone has great flagship tier specs.
Pros: The screen is beautiful at 6.6 inches. The OLED screen is bright, even in sunlight. My last phone struggled there. The 144hz display feels amazing in my hands. The carbon fiber backing of this phone feels very premium. It's soft and super durable. I feel bad putting a case on it! It needs to be shown off haha. The aluminum sides feel nice. I've never had a phone this waterproof and I'm afraid to test it haha. The 68w fast charging is amazing, I went from 10%-100% in around 30 minutes. That's mind blowing. The battery lasts over night, and throughout the next day. I top off before bed and don't worry about it again. The camera is remarkable. A huge step up from my previous phone. Anyone who says this camera isn't good, relies too much on ai processing. The only thing it's missing is telescopic view. Ready for Smart Connect is LIFE CHANGING. I'm able to use my phone while on my computer at work. It has made phone usage and communication so much better. It has so many features I would need to make a video about it. The 5G is blazing fast on ATT prepaid. You'd think it would cost extra to see speeds increase this much! Only had 4g before. It has great Bluetooth specs, supports aptX Adaptive Lossless. Usually that's reserved for the top flagships! I use wired so I won't use it soon, but will be nice if I need it. Face unlock is so fast it usually beats my fingerprint!
Cons: It's missing expandable storage, and a headphone jack. I was holding out for a phone that had those two specs, but this phone's price and performance won me over It gets a bit warm when using the phone. It's never super concerning, but it's definitely a reminder for me to set my phone for down for a bit to cool off.
Overall, hands down an amazing purchase for under $400. I would recommend to anyone looking for an android at $400 or less
5.0 out of 5 stars

I have had this phone for about a week now, and tested it extensively after receiving it.
The first day, the battery went down quickly but after a couple of cycles it changed significantly. As of now, it is a solid 2-day battery with moderately heavy use.
The screen on this device is very bright, and the 144hz refresh rate makes the experience feel extremely smooth. The edges to the screen give the device a very premium feel, much like the S9/Note 9 phones that Samsung made a few years ago.
There is a decent amount of gaming power in this phone, yet nothing to phone home about. You'd likely get a decent experience at medium settings in most AAA mobile games.
For the price, getting 8GB of RAM and 256GB ROM is also a major plus. Plenty of storage for games, photos, necessary apps, updates, and more. The multi-tasking on this phone is great, given the higher RAM capacity.
I also like the customization options that Motorola has available for Android. You can truly give yourself a unique look tailored to you, which makes the device more fun to use in some aspects.
I am very surprised to say that there is nothing bad I can tell you about this phone. Even dropped it a couple times. Nothing but scratches to the metal frame.
I have some older and much slower Android phones. Moto Edge Plus + 2022 is also faster with same apps than iPhone 6sPlus. Width is good, slightly longer than iPhone 6sPlus (prefer not as long, LOL), nice screen, but not the best per web reviews. Maximum audio speaker volume is soft / weak (never loud), but sound exports fine via Blue Tooth. Don't like shaking the phone twice for camera so changed it to 2 taps on power button like Samsung. Not a fan of flashlight needs 2 wrist twists. I like an iPhone type screen. With Android lots of customizations are possible - but so many free apps have many annoying ads. Included Android and Motorola apps are generally good. Not much bloatware. 8, but not 12 GB RAM, much better than 2-4 GB in my older phones. No SD card slot but comes with 512 GB memory built in. Should be more than adequate for most non heavy duty video camera users. With USB C tether, can also be used to securely transfer files or pictures to PC / ? Mac. Battery charging is very fast - but phone gets very warm, likely too fast for optimal battery health - (even 30 W charger in box seems too powerful) so use a low power charger !! Camera gets mediocre reviews and rear camera bulge seems way to large and unappealing. Current phone plan does not include cheap new iPhone or flagship Samsung / Pixel. Price paid (around $250.00 for new in box 2022 model phone on sale) was unbeatable for the performance you get. Somewhat similar performance refurb - not new - comparable phones from Samsung, Pixel, etc. with prices of around $200.00 would be from 2021-2022 non ultra, but FE, 6a, etc. models, and likely with only 80-90% battery health: meaning you likely still need to pay for a battery replacement, which might add about another $75.00 to cost. iPhone 12s and 13s are much more expensive as refurbs. I added 2 low cost CoverOn cases and screen protector glass via Ebay. Uncommon model and poor choice for model name as there is a Moto Edge (? multiple versions for non Plus + models), Moto Edge Plus (without year), M E P 2023, etc. Moto 30, Moto 40 for non US versions and I think each has a different size and some have different camera layouts. Limited accessory choices for M E P 2022 / M 30 Pro and accessory sizes are all different yet model names are similar. Very easy to order the wrong case or screen protector. Moto 30 is the same size as my M E P 2022. Why 4 stars and not 5? It is now a 2 year old phone model with really good screen, reasonable haptics, fast charging, single physical SIM, non loud speaker(s), etc. In brief, a very good new, not refurb, phone for what I paid.
Muy buen producto, a buen precio. Llegó rápido y en buen estado. Bien empacado.
