Update: I've had my mount for over a year now and I'm still in love with it. I'm updating my review because so many people seem to wonder if it will fit a note 4 or iPhone 6 plus. It WILL fit the width no problem but depending how thick your case is, it will probably be just barely too short to fit the 6 plus or note 4 WITH the case. However, I came up with a pretty ingenious way to extend it slightly by angling the top clip enough so that my phone now fits flat on the holder, even with the case. I just put a couple washers under the lower portion as shown in the photo, which causes the clip to be at an angle when tightened, which buys you another 3/8" or so in length so that it fits my phone & case perfectly! The fingers grip tightly enough against the case that I don't have to worry about it slipping even while doing wheelies or going 100+ down the highway (assuming I would do such things, lol).
Original: I searched forever before I found what I call the ultimate holder for Rugged conditions. I got worried when I reviews for other products saying the phone had dropped once or twice. Once or twice is unacceptable! I finally found this finger grip holder which has high tactile rubber finger grips which gently cradle your precious phone while maintaining supreme grip no matter what. To give you a better understanding picture this, I can confidently ride wheelies on my FZ-1000 sport bike, come back down to the ground and the phone doesn't budge. I can sprint 0-130 mph in a few seconds and the phone doesn't budge. Pot holes, speed bumps, no budge! 100% stability. I have the Note III which is the largest phone out there. It does fit, but just barely. I have the spigen ultraslim case which manages to slip in perfectly. Alternatively, if I use by neohybrid spigen case (which adds some bulk), or if I use the headphone jack, the phone does not fit flat against the back 100%. The awesome part is that it doesn't really even matter. You can still put the phone between the long fingers and it still grips like a champ even though its not seated 100%. I would recommend bluetooth headphones and a slim case for Note III users. All others should be fine. The side fingers are adjustable to multiple positions to avoid ports and buttons for a variety of phones

I purchased this mounting system back in April 2013 to use with my iPhone 4s in an Otterbox Defender case. I do a lot of trail riding and unfortunately this relates to somewhat frequent falls. Having had multiple falls where the fingers have broken off, I can say I am beyond thrilled with the level of protection this mount offers.
I modified the mount somewhat to hold my phone more securely. I use the medium fingers on the sides and a small finger on the top. This allows me full access to all the features of the phone and even allows me to have a spare battery attached to the phone (I use a New Trent iTorch IMP52D) while the phone is in the mount. Useful on very long rides where the iphone battery with GPS use just can't make it. The phone stays secure in the holder even over rocks and potholes.
On a few occasions of falling a finger has broken off. The mount comes with 4 of each size so I've been able to replace the broken ones with different sized ones where necessary. I will also say that even with only 3 side fingers and the top finger, my phone has been VERY secure.
Ram-Mount has happily replaced the broken fingers through their warranty program. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this product to anyone trail riding or just recreational riding. The mount itself is great and the customer service is top notch.
