The emotional connection between Aelissm and Pat plus the supporting community gives the story a depth of what a community that works together, plays together and helps one another is all about. The mystery of how to stop the stalker and for Patrick to face his demons about his ex-girlfriend makes the story full of twists and turns and keeps the reader guessing until the end.
The Author combines picturesque scenery with action, drama, and intrigue is this complex novel where most of the characters undergo some type of personal growth, achieve healing and find love. Along the journey from pain to happiness, June find loves in adoption, and both Adam and Patrick find their soulmates. Suspense, humor, and close family relationships provide interest and continuity throughout the novel while giving you glimpses at the plot for a sequel.
I also agree with some of the other reviewers, this story could have been much shorter. There was a lot of silent dialogue that became very repetitive, and I think part of those could have been eliminated and it would have still been a good book.
With that being said; I did like the small town feel to this story, as well as all the close nit people who lived there. I also liked the close friendship between June and Aelissm, and I loved the relationship between Luke and June, too. This was a slow steamy build on a very hot romance between Pat and Aelissm, and when they finally got together I could feel the sparks flying.
All in all, I think this was a very good book.
Would I recommend this book? Yes, most definitely.
