Blustery autumn days have nothing to offer when going up against the WINDSTOPPER Tech Jacket from Mountain Hardwear. The combination of WINDSTOPPER microfleece and Deflection softshell create a slightly stretchy, breathable jacket that can be used well as a stand-alone or as a mid-layer when it gets rainy. Shed extra heat by opening up the pit-zips.

Update: received my new jacket today, many improvements were made including better cuffs, more shell material used on the sleeves and the smaller armpit vents. My only gripe is that they they removed the inside zippered pocket. It's still a 5 star product but I used that pocket all the time on my old jacket and it will be missed.
The pit zips now zip from both sides and are a little shorter which actually makes it easier to slip into since your arm is less likely to exit through the zipper and into the sleeve when putting it on.
Still, it's a beautiful jacket that several have complimented on. I wear it often.
I'm 6'3" with a long upper body, (30" inseam) and an XL Tall fits perfectly.
The color section, mine is sapphire blue, is fleece. I was wanting it to be ALL soft shell so pet hair and stuff wouldn't get caught in it. I didn't see anywhere in the description or the reviews that it was about 1/2 fleece.
The cuffs do not have an adjustment. They fit loosely on my smaller wrists, so I will need to wear a long sleeve shirt under this on cooler days.
The other minor point I didn't catch anywhere is that this is VERY light. Lighter than other soft shell jackets I have. One from Columbia and one from North Face. The WindStopper will make it warm with a base layer, so I don't think the lightness will be an issue, but I was surprised at how light it is. This may even be a good thing instead of bad, it just surprised me.
Fit is good. I fall between L and XL on shirts and jackets and this fits me well in L. Materials are nice and quality seems good. I am very happy with this jacket.
