Solidly built with both a velcro and zipper closure. I leave the zipper open for quick access and zip the case closed for more secure storage. The belt attachment works horizontally or vertically and is very secure.

order at least 1 size larger. this was a Small for a camera tha measured 4.25"x2.5"x1" and did not fit . not even close to being able to zip the case closed, the top and zipper are rounded, not a square shape so cuts off about 1/2" in length stated on Amazon at the corners. Got refund, not decided if I am going to order the larger one or look for different on . the case i really like and have for my other camera is no longer made :(

We got the x-small for a Nikon CoolPix s3100. The camera fits tightly, but the zipper closes well. The materials look high quality and carefully made, and it is cute/nice looking.
However, the design is not that great. It has one additional external compartment that has velcro at the top, close and keep the contents in. However, if you have a memory card, the velcro is too low - the velcro will overlap with the card, and you won't be able to "secure" the card in the compartment.I would also be a little nervous about storing the memory card without a case, as I'd be concerned about the velcro scratching the card connections. The fit is pretty tight, so it will rub with the velcro every time you get it in and out.
I doubt the external compartment is big enough to store an extra battery, or even two memory cards.
The belt attachment also opens/closes with velcro. I seldomly use a belt attachment, but I can't visualize the advantage of this, and it makes the case a little bulkier.
For the price, and features, I'd hands down choose the Lowepro Ridge 10. I own both. The Lowepro Ridge 10 is not as cool looking, but in my opinion, it has a much better design.

Was looking for a case for a macro lens. Not only was I looking for a particular size. But I want to fasten the case to the strap of my messenger bag. This model has flaps with Velcro. It attaches to my bag like it was made for it. The access flap and zipper provides secure storage for my macro lens.

Mountainsmith makes quality knapsacks and other outdoor gear, and found their Cyber II S a better fit for my needs than the comparable Tamrac, which I had previously used for 6 years (and wore out) for my Canon S100. The Mountainsmith is characterized by nifty construction and design. I have used it, and fits comfortably on my belt. Have not yet used the wrap around velcro closure, and need to experiment with it. The battery/memory card compartment has ample room for a spare battery (a necessity with the Canon S100, which eats batteries for breakfast, lunch and dinner) the velcro closure keeps the battery from moving around, and is similar to the one on my previous Tamrac Digital 5662 case. At first, I was leery of the wrap around zipper that extends beyond the overflap of this case, but it works fine in practice, and gives me easy access to the camera for quick shooting while the compartment is unzipped. Only drawback is less protection from the elements while the zipper is open. The comparable Tamrac seems to have more protection on the sides of the case, though it is not as easy to slip the camera in and out of the Tamrac case with the new materials they have incorporated into the design. All-in-all, I'm delighted with my purchase so far. Next objective will be to see how it works with my knapsack shoulder strips in the field.

I very carefully measured and re-measured my camera to make sure it would fit the inside dimensions listed in the ad for this camera bag, but when it arrived, my camera did not fit after all, so I had to send it back.

Bought this for a Lumix LX5. A previous review stated that it was a tight but acceptable fit for that camera--which was true if the camera strap is not attached to the camera. With the strap, the bag is too small. The construction and design of the bag is admirable, however, and I would not hesitate to buy another product from Mountainsmith.

I have used the smaller version for years and love it. It attaches really well to the shoulder strap on backpack. The larger version is just as good!
