This book is great! It is out of print and so I had to order used ones in good condition for our preschool. It is a great book for Turn off the TV week in may. It talks about a family who would constantly watch shows on tv until one day tv broke and they were forced to do things together and loved it. Love this book!

This is the second copy of the book that I have purchased. The story is good for children- turn off the TV and have fun doing creative, fun activities with your family. The pages are very detailed and some can be almost a story unto themselves. Our first copy is hardcover and held together with packing tape!

I have used this book for years in my kindergarten classroom to introduce the idea that there are so many activities my students can do at home besides watch TV. After reading the book, I have my students draw their own pictures about what they can do besides watch TV and we share our ideas with each other. Then we make a book of all the drawings and send it home so that parents can read it. This book has helped me communicate to parents that TV viewing is not the way to promote family closeness without sounding judgmental.

Having borrowed this book from the library I instantly wanted to have my own copy for the illustrations and the story both. Delightful tale with superb supporting pictures of a happy family of mice and each of their tv viewing preferences. Happy that is, until the TV quits working.
