I do nature photography and take my camera (Nikon Z7) on long hikes (10+miles), and wanted something to securely anchor my camera to my side instead of bouncing around my neck. The problem I encountered with this system is that somehow, apparently due the constant motion of hiking, the screw that screws the mount plate into the camera tripod mount slowly unscrews itself with time; eventually causing the camera to fall off. This happened consistently on a long 10 mile hike. I would screw it in as tightly as I could into the tripod mount, and after about 40 minutes of hiking the screw would unscrew and the camera falls off. Fortunately I have a long neck strap on the camera, set a couple of inches longer that the distance to the holster, which prevented the camera from falling to the ground. This happened over and over, which is why I'm giving it only two stars. The screw should have some kind of locking pin to keep it from unscrewing. As it is, it probably works OK for situations without constant motion; but I would not recommend it otherwise.

I have only used this on one photo shoot, but I am hooked. I used it with an EOS 5D Mk II and wide angle lens, and it was perfect. It is nice to have the safety strap, but I don't plan on using it-- completely unnecessary for normal movements like walking and kneeling. I would use it for rock climbing or running from bulls. The QR plate is almost Arca-Swiss, but it took about 5min with a file to get it to fit my ball heads. Even after the filing, the QR plate fit the holster nice and snug, so I will probably be leaving it on my #2 camera. I tried it on my primary setup (EOS 5D Mk II with 70-200 f/2.8), but that is not something I would do unless I had no strap for it and I could not set it down. I wish the QR plate was actually Arca-Swiss, but even as is, I would like a second one.
Update 1/22/2019 : I emailed their customer service to see if I could buy a QR plate and they send me an order link for $14.95 final cost. I bought it a few minutes ago. Needless to say, the good qualities outweigh the bad.

I’e been a serious amateur photographer since my 20s carrying 2 motorized film SLRs with 5 lens on many trips. I am now 70 and carrying one DSLR with a large zoom lens and have had 3 back surgeries. My old style carrying cameras no longer works, Our daughter suggested a holster that neither of us knew was real. I found Movo M8000 and ordered it. If had it a month+ on two shooting trips. It is great asset relieving a lot of weight and still allow good shooting. I feared it would be difficult getting the camera out and in for shooting. It is not. My main fear was missing the catch an dropping the camera. Movo provides an inadequate strap tor this. It is too short to reach showing position. Making it long enough to reach showing position would not prevent a large DLSR with long lens from possibly dropping to far. I solved this with a 60” neck strap that are hard to find. If not for the strap I would give the holster 5.

What is particularly nice about this threaded mount is not mentioned anywhere. It has a lockout lever that allows you to mount a wrist strap to (not sure it is intended for that) and it creates a larger platform to keep your lens from rest on the surface when you set you camera down! I’m going to add some lock tight to the threads to keep the plate nice a tight. I really won’t need to remove it because it has a built In Arc Swiss mount for connecting right to my tripod.

So I'll start by saying that you would order something like this to make your life easier. There's enough stuff going on during a shoot that you don't need one more thing to worry about. I was curious why this cost a fraction as much of similar units... it's just a belt with a holster, right? The whole thing is poorly designed and assembled. It uses the base plate for a tripod to snap into the holster. That can take a while to line up and insert properly. Worse, removing it is a 50-50 proposition. Most times it would get stuck and I'd haveI to remove the belt and put it on a flat surface to figure out how to jiggle out the camera. I would NEVER put myself through this on a live shoot. I'd rate this as the most inconvenient accessory I've ever purchased.

The holster is comfortable even with a 70 to 200mm lens. The latch, though secure requires two hands, one to hold the camera and the other to release the latch. The security lanyard should be longer, can not have attached and comfortably bring camera to eye.

I'm an equestrian, so I wanted something to hold my camera while riding my horse. This holster is great. I also bought a lens holder for my telephoto lens and attached that on the left side of the belt. The camera is held very securely, yet is easy to remove and put back. There was a comment about the safety strap being too short (and if you use it alone, it is). I just loop it through my camera's neck strap, and all is fine. This is one of my favorite camera accessories.

Very well constructed, only issue is it is not a arca-swiss mount, at least not one that matches any of the other ones I have.

This was a gift and hasn't been used much yet, however it appears to be well made and is comfortable to wear. The only drawback is that the "safety" strap isn't long enough to use the camera whilst attached to the belt (and the user isn't that tall). Also the clip is too big to attach to the camera D rings. However overall it's a good piece of kit and very good value when compared to similar items from other manufacturers.
