Great mic for zoom

I needed a good mic for zoom teleconferencing, and although my built-in computer mic did ok, I bought this to have better quality. I played with the zoom audio settings with our sound check person and found that it worked best on zoom if instead of adjusting the mic manually, to leave it on automatic setting and let the computer take over. So I highly recommend putting it on automatic audio setting!
It's a good mic for the money, and you get a clip-on attachment of course that is handy for your tie, pocket, etc., as it doesn't have to be too close to your mouth. In fact on zoom no one even sees the mic as it's just below camera view when I'm sitting. And even if they did see it, it would not attract undue attention.
It comes with ample cord length and usb connection, so no worries on that.
Overall it's a great little addition if you're having to regularly give talks, presentations, or just regular participation on any teleconference platform.

Inexpensive and very good with Dragon Naturally Speaking

When Nuance has included headsets with microphones to use with its Dragon Naturally Speaking products, those headsets have been very uncomfortable. And when I have tried to bend them to conform to my head, they often break.

So the obvious solution is a good, inexpensive lavalier mic such as this one, which works well with Dragon. The cord is a bit long for my purpose, but overall, that is not too much of a hindrance, considering the mic is so light that I forget I am wearing it.

Once, a fellow climber shared the maxim: whenever you are wearing crampons, remember that you are wearing them. And when you aren't wearing them, remember that you aren't. The same could be said of this mic. There is a danger that you will get up to answer the phone or the door, forgetting that you are connected via a cord to a USB port. Damage can result! Always remember that you are wearing this mic. But if you make this mistake (as I did recently, breaking the clip), consider buying the Tie Clip with Foam Windscreen for Lavalier, Lapel & Headset Microphones like Audio Technica ATR-3350 (Pair), also available from Amazon @$14.95. It fits exactly and is a perfect replacement.

With that caution, I gladly recommend this product for utility uses like Dragon..

RE: Movo M1 USB Lavalier Lapel Clip-on Omnidirectional Computer Microphone.
These are very simple to use to capture your voice. Just plug into computer USB and clip to your shirt. Then set your audio driver to use it for the recording. These little electret condenser microphones are omni patterned, but if clipped to your shirt near your throat does a good job and is one of the simplest ways to cleanly mike up your voice. These are a bit cheap and will eventually break so it doesn't hurt to have a couple sitting around as a backup, even if you normally use something else. Their audio quality is very good. They will NOT provide good audio rejection of a loud keyboard (being omni patterned).

Great Microphone for IP Camera sound!

My Foscam R4 IP cameras are mounted outside (on porch) and had trouble picking up sounds. Several posters had commented how this microphone picked up a lot of background sounds and that was exactly what I needed.I use the BlueIris program to manage my cameras and it can take audio from the computer (DirectShowDevices ie this mic) for the camera(s). This Mic plugs into the USB on my Computer and is recognized by Windows and the BlueIris Camera Management Program with no problem. Then from within the BlueIris program I select the 'DirectShow' external microphone for each or all cameras. Now my motion activated clips have the sound from the very sensitive microphone. I clipped it next to the camera. I may get another Mic for the back porch camera.
Very happy with this purchase and liked the extra length of cable.

Wasnt expecting much when i order it given the size of the mic, but it surprising sounds great even with no equalizer on it.
The only warning it that it will pick up sound in an entire room so if you live in a loud house this may not be for you.. Although, if you run it through a pc and can adjust some of the settings on it theres a good chance it will work well.
Long cord is also a bonus.
