How customer reviews and ratings work
Customer Reviews, including Product Star Ratings help customers to learn more about the product and decide whether it is the right product for them.

the music is great, the performances excellent and the records came on time - what is not to like?

Four Unforgettable Giants of Chamber Music -- for 30 years at the Library of Congress
Reviewed in the United States 🇺🇸 on July 13, 2014
This is one of the finest recordings in existence...one should listen, and listen, and listen again.......It's the Budapesters in their prime. Unforgettable. And those of us who were privileged to hear them at the Library of Congress will gratefully remember them as long as we live. And to hear them 'live' all you had to pay was 25 cents. I kid you not. That was in the 50s and 60s.

Great sound, best performance; in contrast to the Berg Quartet from the local library, far superior sound and performance!

Beautiful interpretation of Mozart Quartets. Sounds a bit dated from current recording standards, but still lovely.

4.5 stars- primarily in contrast to my favorites in these six quartets, the Guarneris/RCA and the Quartetto Italiano/Philips. However, I find
the Emersons' most recent Mozart (#s 21-23/Sony) virtually flawless. The change is primarily caused by a more relaxed atmosphere
and greater emotional warmth. Try for example # 15, k421 in re some earlier performances such as the Beethoven opus 18 quartets: brilliant
and daunting procedurally but a bit too cool for me. My reaction to their #18 k464 is similar to #15 with #s 17 and 19 more balanced
temperamentally. I would like to hear a set of #s 14-19 from the latest Emerson personnel plus a premier of # 20,k499

誰をお手本にしたのか
Reviewed in Japan 🇯🇵 on November 11, 2014
