Fit nice, when I take them off for a break, I can keep them around my neck, and they wont fall off, like headphones
The controls are simple and easy to figure out
They look nice, it may seem like the part around the ear is too big and bulky. I was worried at first, but its never bothered me
The distance is fine for me. I put my iPod in my gym bag while I play basketball and all through the gym it stayed connected. Though, if I'm not playing basketball I keep it in my pocket.
Battery life is perfect. I use them all through the day. Probably a total of 8 hours. They almost always still have charge when I get home for the day
So for the cons, there are a few of them, but to me theyre minor, maybe not to others
After wearing for so long they can start to make your ears ache (happens with most headphones), but also keep in mind that I wear mine all day, and they only bother me sometimes.
To make them charge you have to plug them in.... And hit the phone button. I've forgotten to hit the phone button twice and its left me with dead headphones for a day, which sucks. But again not a deal breaker.
The voices and sounds it makes are VERY loud. The voice telling you 'your phone is connected /disconnected is very loud that I take them out of my ears when I do that
When you turn the volume all the way up, there is a beep letting you know its at max volume and it is very loud as well.
Now when your headphones are about to die, you get an annoying 'battery low' voice. Which is nice.... Except it repeats every 30 seconds. So even though you have 5-15 minutes left of listening, you dont want to because the voice will repeat everything 30 seconds till its dead, which makes them impossible to listen to.
The last thing is the MIC. The MIC is alright, but not great. When I use it to call, my family will often ask me to speak up (keep in mind I'm soft spoken, but haven't had this issue with talking through wired headphones with a mic). Generally I was able to speak loud enough, but didn't do it in public because I felt I was being too loud.
So those are all of my issues with it. It takes about 2-4 hours for a full charge I believe. I love them. I even bought some of the expensive jaybird blue xx (or something like that, for $135), I prefer the mpows for a couple of reasons.
The mpows stay around my neck when not in use and I don't want them in my pockets, whereas the jaybirds are just a cord (no coil or spring) so they would likely fall off
When in use the mpows fit much better than the jaybirds because you do not have the extra cord that you get to tighten or loosen (which was annoying to me, especially given the terrible way that you have to tighten and loosen them on the jaybirds). With that said I have an average sized head and don't know how they would fit on a bigger head, but I imagine just fine.
The controls for the mpows are on my ear when I'm wearing them, whereas on the jaybirds theyre kind of behind my neck and a little uncomfortable to reach for.
The mpows also stayed in my ears better, though I'm told there are some good substitutions for the jaybird ear buds that help them to stay better and be more comfortable.
Lastly I liked the mpows better simply because I couldn't get my iPod touch 5 to recognize the jaybirds. Though my phone (Lumia 925) had no problem recognizing either.
Now what I liked about the jaybird better was simply the quality, the audio was crisper and the MIC was better. I talked to my brother fairly quiet and he could hear me, though I never went in public so I dont know how they are with noise.
Also the jaybirds come with a smooth and sleek case, which is really cool and I almost want to keep them for the case... But alas, I returned the jaybirds and stuck with my mpows, they are great headphones with a few annoyances that'll hopefully be worked out in the next ones.
Also, I apologize for formatting issues, this was on my phone, so I have no idea how it looks
Packaging/Design: Like the Swift, and every other Mpow product I have purchased, the packaging is minimal and precise. The box itself is of a smooth velvet type of material, which is a nice touch. It opens from a side flap to show the headphones resting in a mold cutout. They are snug and won't move around during shipping. Underneath that is the instructions, USB micro charging cable, and extra ear tip sizes. No complaints here
The design of the headphones themselves is also a clean and minimal look. The ear pieces are small considering the technology that is in them, and the wrap around cable piece is firm yet bendable for easy adjusting. All buttons and the charger port are on the right ear and are easily accessible even with them on my big ears.
Fit/Comfort: I have read some of the other reviews comments about the comfort, and am glad to say that I do not have those issues. The headphones wrap perfectly around my head/neck and over my ear. The angle is just right for the earbuds and I can hear them make a seal in my ear. If I lightly tug on them I can feel the suction of it, showing how good the seal is. And of course, there are 2 other sizes if one doesn't meet my needs.
I have worn these for a max of about 1, maybe 2 hours consistently, and they are very comfortable. I could probably go for more. They hardly move at all while running and I can barely notice it there. The only minor issue is that the headphones cannot comfortably rest around my neck when not in use. The "cable" is too short and the earbuds instead push against my neck. Not a big deal though, as they do not push in too deep, it just looks funny.
Sound: Like the Swift, these produce adequate sound. The bass in particular is a little better than the Swift. Don't expect any super hard hitting bass like a pair of Beats. Quality is clear, with no distortion even at the highest levels. Again nothing amazing, but more than enough for use during sports or any activity. The absolute best thing about these though is that it doesn't produce any cable noise. With every other in-ear headphone I have used, including the Swift, any touch of the headphone cable produces an odd thump in my ear. These have none of that, and are perfect for when running. Keeps the audio clean and clear with no distractions.
Phone quality is also good. The call is as clear as it is on my iPhone, and my callers cannot hear the decently loud gym noise around me. Can't ask for much more than that!
Final word: I have finally found the perfect pair of headphones for the gym. It's lightweight, easy to use, minimal, has great sound AND allows me to answer phone calls. Honestly, what else can you ask for from a pair of 25$ headphones? Try these now, you won't be sorry.
