From the Manufacturer
Mr. Beams MB371 Spotlight with Remote Control, Brown
The Mr. Beams MB371 Wireless LED Spotlight with Remote Control offers a simple solution to a wide variety of lighting needs. The wireless, battery-powered light covers 400 square feet and can be attached anywhere, including doorways, garages, fences, decks and even trees, for convenient wireless lighting.
Spotlight with Remote Control Settings and Features
Motion Sensor or Remote Control Activated
The MB371 can be activated two different ways: by detecting motion from as far as 30 feet away or by the remote control. Because the remote control uses radio frequency (RF) control, it does not require a line of sight to turn the Spotlight on and off.
The motion sensor can detect motion even when the light has been activated with the remote control, but you also have the option to disable the motion sensor with the control and use the lights as manual on/off lights.
Customizable Brightness and Auto Shut Off
The MB371 offers multiple brightness and auto shut off settings, so you can customize the light to fit what you need for different applications. Use the remote to choose from three brightness settings: 60, 90 and 140 lumens; and set the light to one of three auto shut off options: 30 seconds (for motion detection), one hour or four hours (by remote control).
Bright and Efficient LED
The bright LED provides 140 lumens (at its brightest setting) of bright white light. Expect at least 40 hours of light at 140 lumens, but adjusting the brightness to the lower settings will provide longer battery life. The LED never needs replacing.
Spotlight with Remote Control Installation and Applications
Easily install the MB371 Spotlight anywhere in less than five minutes – no wires, no electrician. Use the three included screws and a regular screwdriver or drill and install the Spotlight anywhere you need light, including basements, doorways, driveways, garages, sheds, decks, porches, fences and trees. The MB371 Spotlight is weatherproof so it can withstand outdoor weather conditions all year long. Use the two additional included screws to mount the remote holder in a convenient place.
The MB371 Spotlight can be used for unlimited lighting needs, including outdoor security lights, outdoor event lights, yard lighting, garage lighting, shed lighting, warehouse lighting and indoor lighting. Adjust the brightness setting depending on the location of the light and how much ambient light there is. Use the longer auto shut off options for outdoor projects and events.
Remote Control Only Applications
The MB371 Spotlight with Remote Control has the unique ability to be used as either a motion-sensing spotlight or a remote controlled spotlight. To use the light as a remote controlled spotlight, disable the motion sensor with the remote and then adjust the brightness (60, 90 or 140 lumens) and auto shut off time (one hour or four hours) to what your lighting need requires. Install the spotlight to be used for event lighting, garage lighting, cabin lighting, barn and farmhouse lighting, boating and dock lighting, as a temporary light to let pets outside, and to illuminate real estate signs, serenity gardens and artwork.

Enter this handy little light. It has been mounted at the end of my shower, between the top of the tile and the ceiling. The little holder for the remote has been attached to the wall outside the shower. Press a button, the shower is illuminated nicely. (Oh, look! Who knew the head of a razor had popped off into the dark corner of a shower, where someone could step on it?) Press the button again, the unobtrusive white housing fades right back into its dim little spot. Since this is an outdoor rated unit, I don't worry about water or humidity damaging the unit.Read more ›
Update: After doing some extensive research, I found myself being drawn back to this light because it really fit my needs. I have an area behind my house that very much needs a motion/light sensor and unfortunately there's no wiring for lighting. I either solve it with a battery operated solution or pay the expense of wiring a light fixture there. One of the things I learned during my research was the size of the batteries that operates the light generally equates to the amount of lighting it puts out. This particular security light takes three "D" cell batteries while most of the others in its class generally take double A's. Well, I decided to try it again hoping I wouldn't get stung twice, but this time I bought the Dorcy instead. Mr. Beams and Dorcy are identical with some very minor exceptions. I held my breath when it arrived and I'm pleased to announce that it works as advertised. The light is pretty powerful after all and the pictures they show on the packaging aren't exaggerations. The sensor picked my motion up at a pretty good distance and I was very happy about that. Although very much alike, make sure you read the differences between the Dorcy and Mr. Beams; the Dorcy has no options for you to select, while Mr. Beams does.Read more ›
