I was very disappointed! I wanted to install this in a small closet in our older home. The ceilings are 13' and hard to reach. So, I installed it above the inside of the door. When I open the door nothing happens. I literally have to reach up and wave my hand to get the light to come on. The light stays on for about 30 seconds, then I have to wait for about 20 seconds and wave my hand again and hope the light comes back on. This is literally a CEILING light and useless in any other location. Also, there must be nothing even remotely blocking its limited ability to detect motion. And, as I mentioned, it does not stay on very long at all -- do what you have to do and get out. ONE STAR!
UPDATE -- I was contacted by Mr Beams (see their comment). They have very graciously offered to replace the MB990 with an MB970, a brand new model which seems to more closely match my needs. In addition, they have offered to mail the replacement and have me send the MB990 back in that package. They are also going to replace the D-cell batteries used in the MB990 with C-cells used in the MB970.
The customer service has been FANTASTIC! I will provide a final update once the process is completed. Up to THREE STARS!
UPDATE 2 -- I received the replacement product MB970. It is perfect for my needs. It can be attached to a wall and adjusted to direct the light where you need it. It is easily assembled and attached to the wall. The light is bright and perfect for my closet! Hooray! A FIVE STAR product and FIVE STAR customer service from Mr. Beams!!!!
