The problem that I am having now is that as soon the temperature outside hits below 40° Fahrenheit, they start to flicker and then they stay lit all night. The batteries get depleted really fast like this. It 's very frustrating. It is not one or two that are defective, it's all of them. The circuitry inside has a very obvious problem and that problem is that these lighting fixtures are not made to stand cold temperatures. They work well in the summer but they are not good in the winter.
Don't buy them if you live in a cold region, or you are going to have the same problem that I am having.
So when you mount these, put some duct tape around the seal after you put in the batteries and twist it to the locked position. That will probably seal the thing right and you won't have to worry about them getting damaged by water. This is what I would have done if I would have known that they leaked. But woulda coulda shoulda I guess.
Or put them in an area where they won't get wet all that much if at all.
I mounted my lights about twelve feet off the ground and angled out a little. This makes an oval of light that is about twenty-one by thirty feet. These give me the light where I need it and a much cheaper than having an electrician wire my home for just one light.
The motion detection area exceeds the lighted area by a few degrees and is sensitive enough to detect my cat when he runs through the area, but not when he walks through. Time will tell how long these lights last and the duration of the batteries.
Wish I had discovered these lights a few years ago. The price just went up $3.50 each to $24.99, but I'd probably still buy them although with this much difference I might opt for the similar Dorcy units.
The lights I originally installed are still functioning just fine. The batteries seem to last a little over a year in the units that are activated the most. Making it a habit to replace the batteries in late fall each year and I will have no worries all winter.

My neighbour put it up for me and he said it was easy. The sensor works well and the lamp is nice and bright. It will be activated in windy weather by any garden plants that move in the wind in the sensor range. Once lit, the lamp stays on for a little while and then goes out.
If the lamp starts staying on, OR going off and then on again soon after, just test the batteries because I have found it can do this when the batteries are getting low.
The light from these is enough to properly illuminate an area, these are not cheep, mood lights, this is a proper white light so you dont trip up on unseen items on the path
