Huh?? I don't think the other reviewers are reviewing the same machine! This is an outstanding coffee maker. The coffee tastes great, it is hot, and the stainless steel carafe keeps it piping hot for hours. The built in (and replaceable) charcoal filter takes out chlorine and other substances from your water and makes a smoooooth cup. Also, unlike other coffee pots I've used, this one DOES NOT DRIP when pouring a cup. It is nicely styled and looks great on my kitchen counter-top. Another bonus: it is fast! It brewed an entire pot in under 6 minutes, and without preheating the water like a Bunn does.

I did find it online from another retailer for about $30 less, so look around and you might find it for less.

UPDATE: I've owned this brewer for two months now and I love it even more than when I first bought it. I wish I could give it SIX STARS! I grind my own beans at night, set it to automatically brew in the morning, and I wake up to piping hot, great tasting coffee. I have not had any problems with "leaks" reported by some other reviewers, so I don't know if they simply not seating the reservoir properly or what. The reviewer who stated "The water tank leaks all over the counter!" and " Where the water tank connects with the machine water simply squirts out everywhere flooding the counter!" is either completely incompetent or is just disgruntled and making stuff up.

UPDATE 2: Have owned this machine for 15 months now. Still excellent!

We have had this coffee maker for about a year. We actually bought it used, so we had to clean it up really well before using it. Our water reservoir did leak at first. All I had to do was remove a few screws and clean some scale from a rubber seal located where the tank fits into the unit. I have not had any problems with weak coffee or off tasting coffee. I do not buy that godawful cheap supermarket variety coffee in large cans. I only buy premium coffee and it tastes delicious every time. We use filtered water and have not had any new scale build-up. I clean it with vinegar about once a month.
The coffee comes out piping hot every time and it stays hot in the caraffe for many many hours without getting that old burnt coffee taste. I highly recommend this product and it is too bad some reviewers have given it a bad rep.

I bought one of these from a department store back in 2009 and have used it ever since. I have found that the coffee it makes is consistently good and have had several compliments on my coffee from guests. If you brew six or more cups you shouldn't have a problem with it not being hot enough; however, anything less than six cups will result in tepid coffee due to heat absorption by the stainless carafe. I really like the look of the pseudo-analog clock and do not find it at all difficult to set. The delayed brew timer works just fine and is a blessing for me since I get up at 4:15 and like to have my coffee hot and waiting for me. But, as I said in my title ... it isn't perfect.

The carafe sits in a detent in the hot-plate and if it isn't seated properly steam will rise from the pot and cause condensation to form inside the clock lens. When that happens the clock hands will stop being displayed. It happened five or six times before I figured out why. The first time it happened I was without the clock for nearly two weeks before it decided to start working again. After several occurrences I discovered that unplugging the pot while I went to work would get the clock back to normal. Just make sure the carafe is completely seated and you shouldn't experience this.

There is a rather large opening in the rear of the unit that is designed for cord storage. Not everyone will have this problem, but I live in an apartment complex and there is a real epidemic of large cockroaches (sometimes called Palmetto bugs) which get into the apartments through inadequately sealed floors, cabinets, etc. These bugs simply adore the heat and moisture of a coffee pot and that big opening attracts them to nest in there.

Good looking machine on the counter, makes coffee fast, it beeps when done brewing and beeps again two hours later to let you know the coffee will start cooling off.Filling the water tank can be awkward because the cover hides the numbers on the tank while pouring water into the tank when making a full pot.But its a very good coffee maker and I would recommend buying it.

I bought this because of the Steel Carafe. I was sick of my glass ones breaking sometimes and paying a bunch of money for another one. The first time I used it I tested it and the coffee did not stay hot after the coffee maker turned off. I thought it was broken. I then decided to try it again and the coffee stayed hot for a very long time and hasn't failed me yet. I think this is a great coffee maker. The only down side I can see to it is I use a permanent filter and the water filter that cleans the water doesn't fit on top when I use it. The permanent filter sits close to the top of the coffee area. Other than that I can see me using this coffee maker for a while to come.
