How Much Heat Do You Need?
You can calculate the amount of BTUs required by using the following method: Measure the space’s dimension to determine cubic feet. (Length x Width x Height = Cubic Feet). Subtract the outside temperature from the desired inside temperature to determine the temperature increase. If you have measured temperature in Fahrenheit, calculate the required BTUs with this formula: (Cubic Feet x Temperature Increase x .133 = Required BTUs) If you have measured temperature in Celsius, calculate the required BTUs with this formula: (Cubic Feet x Temperature Increase x .2394 = Required BTUs).

EDIT: OK, the failure mode is not in the design but the manufacturing. Open up the heater and everything was loose. The brass nut on the main valve was complete off. Hence the not lighting problem. There are also, two screws (M4) opposite the tilt mechanism, one missing, one loose. entire head would move back and forth. Replaced the missing screw, tightened everything and it now lights easy! Tilt safety functions properly.
Oh, final note, while you have it apart, grind of the ON button and sand smooth, your thumb will love you.
1-No throttle, its all the way on, or all the way off...
2-You cant fully turn it off without taking the bottle off, or it will continue to dump raw propane into your enclosed space.... which is sure to wake you up in the middle of the night.
The other reason I decided to go with this to heat my car is the fact that it is portable. I have a shed that I use as a workshop and this little heater would be perfect for heating my workspace.
From other reviews it seems as though one small propane tank last about 4-5 hours. I cannot really vouch for that yet, but I have used this for three days now, 20-25mins in the morning and 10-15 minutes after work each day and there is still well over half a tank.
The only downfall I've found is that when this guy is on it's on, there is no knob to turn it up or down. Oh and the work "ON" is embossed on the on button, not so much of a problem with the heater itself, but really doesn't feel all that wonderful while holding the button down to light the unit.
Bottom line: The heater works. It won't work miracles, but it's better than nothing. The base of the heater leaves a little to be desired, but there are aftermarket propane bottle bases that may provide better stability.
