If you can get over the seemingly contrived drama…the possibly mistaken idea that LB is ‘making a mountain out of a molehill’ (in the plot), and allow her story to carry you, you’ll definitely enjoy this rom-drom. LB’s forethought and dedication to sentence structure and original dialogue are stellar. In this story, Ms Bay takes several different but related problems, and slowly begins to weave them together. When Stella London is first introduced to us, she’s strong, in control and self-assured..and I just loved her. She always see’s the good in people and easily forgives their flaws. But she’s so thoroughly and utterly fooled by the lies of her ex and former BFF that her self-confidence takes a crushing blow. She begins to doubt herself…her judgment; she digresses into a low self-esteemed weakling; ‘suspicious-of-everything’, of every person she knows (or thought she knew)…she mentally questions and doubts her ability to trust her friends, their loyalties, future relationships, etc. After all, she thought she knew her ex and her best friend! She began to sound like an immature, broken-hearted Jr. high teen. But the fact is, Stella’s an angel that’s been abused and horribly misused. Anyway, I loved how she didn’t immediately fall all over Beck when they meet…(like he expects). Beck Wilde was a likable, full-of-himself guy who’s a workaholic and allergic to relationships. He’s obsessed with making money; more, more and more. He uses women and only needs a random woman for one thing. Other than that, he doesn’t want to be bothered or tied down. He’s accustomed to women fawning over and flirting with him; trying to gain his attention. Stella didn’t do any of that; in fact, she couldn’t care any less about him…treating him like an annoying little brother. (It was hilarious). But the fact is, Beck is fighting his own demons. This was a good story of two people coming to an agreement to get something from the other. Stella sets her terms to gain her Designer business. Beck must agree if he wants to achieve his own agenda. (He just doesn’t know what to think about a woman uninterested in/or coming onto him). In the end, they each gain perspective and healing from the other. Beck becomes less rigid and more trusting. Stella learns to let go of her past and focus on her future as she heals. If you enjoy stories with light drama and strong, sexual tension but isn’t focused solely on sex; with great characters and fun supporting characters, you’ll enjoy this story.

Really enjoyed this story. I loved Beck and liked Stella. Wish she had a backbone with more than just Beck. The fake relationship trope ie one of my favorites. This one had added close proximity. Stella's ex and best friend deserved each other. They were pretty horrible people. I loved Beck's friends also. Looking forward to their stories. Definitely recommend.

Book one in the Mister series can be read as a standalone and ends with a HEA. It is written in first person from an alternating dual POV.

Beck is a hero riven to succeed no matter what it takes. His goal with his current deal is not just financially motivated, but also motivated by demons and baggage from his childhood. Stella is his only chance to meet with the man who can make it happen. Stella has only been 2 months out of a seven year relationship when her ex sends her a wedding invitation to his marriage to the woman she thought was her best friend. When Beck approaches her to take him as her plus one to the wedding she is definitely not excited about his proposal.

I love that Stella takes a chance and goes after her dream, even though it means a painful week confronting the betrayal of those who were supposed to love her. Beck had no idea of Stella's history when he asked her to make a deal, but he is willing to do whatever it takes to make it as comfortable as he can. I adore the friendship they form leading up to the wedding. When they are sharing a hotel room for a week in Scotland, they give into their chemistry and have some very hot times. I like that Stella takes the time to gain control of her life and reset her priorities. I love that Beck gives her time but still fights for her.

This was a funny, swoon-y read. There is plenty of heat and a romantic ending. I loved it and can't wait to read more of the series centered on Beck's friends because I know I will also get more Beck & Stella.

Good first read to start. Stella was in serious need of meeting Beck, as he gave her confidence. She still really needed to tell off her ex but whatever. Loved the growth in both characters.
Beck needs to get to a wedding and Stella needs a new future. They make a deal that will help each other out even though the wedding that needs attending is Stella’s ex.

Stella London is as low as a girl could be. She moved to London, giving up her burgeoning interior design practice in Manchester and taking a job in a recruitment agency, to be with her long-term boyfriend Matt when a job opportunity arose. Now he's left her and the flat they bought together, even worse she's just found out that he's not only dating her BFF Karen but they are getting married, less than two months after Stella and Matt broke up - heck, she was expecting them to get back together! Losing her BFF on top of that is just the cherry on a sh!tty cake.

Beck Wilde is a self-made millionaire property developer. He has bought all but one of a row of buildings in prestigious Mayfair which he intends to develop into luxury apartments, unfortunately the one building he hasn't acquired is the one he really wants, it was owned by his a-hole biological father and Beck wants to right the wrongs that were done to his mother. In order to acquire this property and commence development he needs to get close to the current owner, but so far all his tricks have failed. Then he discovers that the owner has blocked out a week to attend his goddaughter's wedding in Scotland - somehow he needs to get an invitation to that wedding. When he discovers that Stella is the only single woman under 60 attending the wedding who hasn't RSVP'd with the name of her plus-one he knows he has to do everything in his power to persuade her to take him to the wedding.

Beck is your typical self-made millionaire, at least in novels, he's got a chip on his shoulder, a grudge against his biological father, determined to get what he wants, and never had a real relationship with a woman because he's married to his business. He's gorgeous, fit, and practically a non-drinker.

With Louise Bay you know what you are going to get, and this is no exception. My only gripe would be that the sex was neither here nor there, a bit too domineering for my taste but also not very sexy (which is a long-winded way of saying I didn't get hot under the collar and there was too much of it). Nevertheless, it was a fun read and I chose to read this rather than the 12 ARCs sitting on my Kindle or the five books I bought. Oh, and it is currently free on Amazon Kindle.

And reaching the end of none, I decided to glance at Mr Mayfair the invitation I recived through the post had interest spiked
The evening was late so not really intending to get straight into the book I was reluctance to put the book down but finally relented as my vision blurred
Stella and Beck are both down to earth relatable characters, I have them both so clear in my head. And Karen and Matt had me chomping at the bit
Needles to say I finished the book in two sittings , with a kaleidoscope of emotions the story just flows drawing you in with every sentence.
Louise i love this book and have already recommended to all who would listen .
