Mr. Nosey does not encounter any of the other Mr. Men from the Mr. Men series in this book. He does meet several people from the local town.
Of the Mr. Men books that I have read, I would recommend this one, it it not the best work by Roger Hargreaves, but it is near the top of the list. I would recommend Mr. Tall in addition to this one. If you do buy a Mr. Men book, then you should get a couple because they are very small.
Mr. Noisy is a really noisy person (a big round red blob with hands, feet and eyes) who is rude to Mr. Butcher and Mrs. Baker (who are an item??;)). They then get together and conspire to change Mr. Noisy's rude and noisy ways by simply pretending they are deaf. After going to bed hungry (and with a little more encouragement) Mr. Noisy changes his brash ways and everyone is happy. Don't you love those happy endings?!
#1 - Mr. Noisy
If you haven't already guessed from the title of the book and my review, Mr. Noisy likes to shout. Not only that he "clumps" everywhere, very noisily too! Having had enough of this obnoxious behavior, Mrs. Crumb comes up with a suggestion that she shares with Mr. Bacon. The next day, when Mr. Noisy comes to purchase his bread and meat, both Mrs. Crumb and Mr. Bacon pretend that they cannot hear him. Mr. Noisy goes home sad and empty handed. The following day, he starts shouting at them again but then halfway through gains some inspiration and talks quietly and politely. Guess what? The shopkeepers serve him! Not only that, as Mr. Noisy starts to clump back up the hill, he suddenly stops and starts tiptoeing. What fun! A good lesson in manners!
#2 - Mr. Nosey
There is no doubt about it, Mr, Nosey is NOSEY, frequently poking his nose into other people's business. SO, one day the people of Tiddletown, where Mr. Nosey lives, decided to do something about it.
The first day he got paint on the end of his nose, the next day it was a clothes peg. How long was it before Mr. Nosey learned his lesson? Read this delightful book to find out! Contains a valuable lesson written in a humorous way for all kids (and adults) to appreciate.
