Book desperately needed an editor.
A bunch of poorly phrased passages had me rereading paragraphs. She thought that they would take a car to lunch but they hopped on the train and started talking, next thing I read was she was putting down her menu?? What? Did I miss something? The disjointed-ness really took me out of the story.
The character of Mr west reminded me of several other male characters the author has written which I found really disappointing. Am I reading about Trent Richardson, senator James, or Mr west because all those characters sadly seemed to be the same.
The plot is very weak. There seems to be a sexy times scene every 6 or 7 pages. I know for me that if a book is mostly sexy scenes seemly back to back, the scenes are not fun but get boring and frankly a bit monotonous. The sex is a chore to read if the characters/plot have no real depth. If most of the sex scenes were cut, the book length would most likely be reduced by at least a third.
Huge continuity issue with the introduction of Mr West's friends. One of the friends is named Noah Vega. I was thinking maybe this is Mr Vega's brother or a cousin from the Mr Vega book since the main character's name was Logan Vega in that book. Nope, Noah Vega is described as Faith's husband so the author forgot the appropriate name! Really! Definitely needed an editor and or proofreader because that is pretty bad in my opinion.
The 1st book in the series mr vega was way better than this. I also really liked Trent and Duncan. I have read a bunch of this author's work now and I have to say the male characters are starting to be some version of Trent. They don't "sound" like 3 dimensional fully realized white males. I don't know if I will continue with this author's work after reading two duds in a row (James and this book).
