The item is smaller than I expected it to be. I have seen very cheaply made versions that are bigger. So, this is disappointing.

I am also disappointed that one of the blades came bend, and I had to bend it back into place. I would not consider these blades sturdy if I can bend them with very little effort.

I hope that it will last a long time. I love baking and I am really looking forward to using it.

I love this thing... Before buying a dough whisk I was mixing bread, brownies, cake mixes, etc with a wooden spoon and really don't have space for things like stand mixers. This thing mixes so well, doesn't get gummed up in a thick batter like a whisk does, and you can just tap off extra batter (give it a little spray with cooking spray before you go in, and batter will slide off even more easily. It's hard to explain if you've never used one, but it really is a simple go to kitchen essential for me now. Batter just doesn't glom all over it like it does to a wooden spoon. And you can use the bottom to scrap the sides to incorporate any missing elements in your mixing bowl.

This PARTICULAR model however... within a WEEK of use the little metal cap had come loose. We only used it twice and it was hand washed. Still, relative to cost - the actual whisk is holding together really well, and you just stick the stupid cap back down whenever it comes up (which is every time).

The item is otherwise completely fine, albeit being double the price of other similar items you can find on amazon. I initially chose this one because the photos clearly show the scraper stamped "stainless steel Made in Japan". I didn't get one that said this, however I did get one with a nice heat stamp on the handle. The tag it came with says Made in China. I dont really care all that much where its made at the end of the day, but if i'd known it was going to be like most other scrapers out there I would have opted to buy a cheaper one (as I care even less about the heat stamp on the handle. Ill be using this because I need one, but when my wife asked me to pick up a couple more I went ahead and bought two winco branded ones for the same price as this one. Quality and build are pretty similar, though the edge of this has a slight bevel rendering it somewhat sharp which I dont necessarily like or dislike.

TLDR I payed extra because the photo depicts that this is made in japan, it wasn't. Not a deal breaker, but there are cheaper scrapers that are basically exactly the same and you can get two of those for the price of this one.

My sweet husband loves to get up on Saturday mornings and cook breakfast--biscuits (homemade), gravy (homemade), and sausage or bacon. When we first married and he'd be up before me I'd lay in bed drawn up in a knot because he somehow managed to dirty up every surface and bowl in the kitchen and then I'd have to clean it up. So I'd fuss....just a little bit. One day it dawned on me, "Girl! Be quiet! Sleep in and enjoy a good breakfast, and maybe he'll learn to be a little neater." Fast forward 23 years and he makes better biscuits and gravy than I do, and what little mess he makes is a fair trade not to have to cook for him or our five boys. His weapon of choice is a wire pastry cutter and after many years and countless batches of biscuits, his broke. He made do with a fork (he said the quality of his biscuits suffered terribly) until I could get him a new pastry cutter ordered. He was so happy that I didn't say a word when he forgot to put water in the biscuit dough bowl and it dried like concrete.

Viene empacado en una bolsa de plástico solo con un cartón alrededor de la hoja, y sobre la hoja no viene grabado "Stainless Steel" en ninguna de las dos caras.

Ya solo para comprobar lo obvio, hice una sencilla prueba con un imán para ver si al menos la hoja es de acero inoxidable, y como era de esperarse es de hierro, no apto para alimentos húmedos como la masa.

El acero inoxidable NO es magnético, ve el video anexo.

Así que, ni acero ni hecho en Japón, por lo que obviamente no recomiendo este producto, no solo por la publicidad engañosa, sino principalmente porque el hierro se oxida y no quiero envenenar mi comida.

Procedo a hacer la devolución a Amazon.

So very impressed with this! I bought it on a whim, and when I received it I thought "how the heck is this going to help at all". Well, I made cookies last night and I'm a believer. Usually I have to stir and stir and stir until my arm feels like its going to fall off. Using this, I dumped in all of my flour and began to stir. It combined in a minute or less, with virtually no strain on my arm.

I have no idea why this works as well as it does, but anyone that does any baking at all needs this in their kitchen. I do recommend rinsing it immediately after use, as there are a few small spaces that would be difficult to clean if dough dried on.

I could not believe how easy it is to mix the ingredients with this dough whisk. I used mostly for no knead bread as I add some seeds (sesame, flax, ground nuts). It is amazingly easy to mix all dry ingredients. I add water and I continue mixing with the same whisk until everything is mixed together. In the end I add a little olive oil. I also use the whisk to mix it in the soft dough. The oil gets all the dough off the whisk. I wash the metal part in an instant. I also apply some olive oil on the wooden handle. I can't believe how useful this is for mixing softer doughs or solid ingredients. Real whisks are not good when the wet part gets inside the bowl.
This is so good for anybody baking bread.
UPDATE:
I have it for several months. It is still in one piece. The circular collar at the end of the wood handle is not fixed anymore (I guess the wood must have shrunk a little bit). That is no deal breaker at all. I could glue it back but it does not interfere with the whisk, so I don't care. I used it for al sorts of dough without any issue. I wrote this update as many reviews are negative. I must have been lucky as my whisk is still working as new.

This product, Mrs Anderson's, is poorly made - The metal collar is not properly made and thus the dough gets in the hole that holds the metals tines in the wooden handle.
I do not recommend this product as the trapped dough in the handle will eventually become moldy and smelly.
* Also note that Amazon sells a 100 % stainless steel - TOVOLO DOUGH WHISK-12 inches- NO WOOD.
You will be able to flush the dough out with running hot tap water without doing any permanent damage to the product.
* I tried both kinds and the TOVOLO is tops.
