"Courageous, candid and clear. ... In Ms. Cheevious in Hollywood, [Davis] tells her story fully, honestly and completely, presenting every detail in naked honesty."

From the Inside Flap
-- Cady McClain, Emmy-Winning Actress, Artist & Author
"It was in those moments, I couldn't help but wonder if celebrities like this a-list actress could see "Damaged" or "Been through hell" written all over my face. Could they see past the headset into the chaotic, heartbreaking world I'd come from? Were the horrors of my husband's violent drug addiction, the threat of losing my kids and going to jail, or the fact my older son was under someone else's care a dead giveaway? I hoped not, as I chuckled and smiled as knowingly as possible at their talk of designer gowns, shoes, or the party they'd been to in Cannes. I watched as Scarlett and this mystery guy laughed together, unabashedly holding up the progress of our show."
"Kkkhhh. "Lisa Jey! Where's Scarlett?! Over! " Kkkhhh.
"I've got her. We're at the stage door. But there's a hold-up."
"What?" Aaron commanded. In that second I noticed a boom mic hanging over my head and with a glance over my shoulder saw an entire MTV camera crew behind me, trying to capture all of this on film. Why is everyone making such a big deal about this? Then, Mr. Unassuming reached out, lifted his sunglasses, shook my hand and said, "Hi. How're you doing?"
Oh. I get it now.

MS. CHEEVIOUS is the true story of how Lisa Jey Davis gathered the courage to leave an abusive relationship and chose to chase her dream of working in Hollywood while raising two boys on her own. You may not agree with all of her choices, but you can't help but admire her grit, determination, and optimism. I don't often read non-fiction, but I truly enjoyed this peek inside the mind of a woman who succeeded against many odds and kept her spirit, sense of humor, and sense of herself intact. She's inspirational - perhaps the highest compliment I can give.
Kudos, Ms. Davis - I look forward to reading about the further adventures of Ms. Cheevious!
