Her heroine, Megan Sawyer, is a lawyer who leaves a big-city practice to return to her rural hometown. The young widow, who lost her husband to the war in Afghanistan, occasionally succumbs to sadness, but she’s a determined survivor who finds joy in the simple things in life and has the grace to love and forgive members of her family despite their flaws.
Megan is not only likeable but resilient, and intelligent. I love how she deals with the frustrations and setbacks we all face in our daily lives while taking the first steps toward romance and working to unmask a killer.
Megan Sawyer gives up her big-city law career to care for her grandmother and run the family’s organic farm and café. Expecting to find peace and tranquility in her scenic hometown of Winsome, Pennsylvania, Megan runs into one problem after the other, until finally she is thrust into the middle of a murder investigation—and she’s the chief suspect.
Ms. Tyson has jam packed this mystery with well developed characters, excellent world building, and one very good mystery! I am eagerly awaiting more books in this series.
