1.0 out of 5 starsHard to operate, high risk of cutting a finger.

I used this product once, as soon as I got it out of the box.
I tried slicing a potato, it was hard to make the potato slide against the blade (lots of pressure required) but got it to work, then the last piece (when most of the potato was already sliced) always got stuck in the blade. In trying to get that slice out (and slice it just with a knife) I got a deep cut in my thumb.
My husband then went for a try at it, this time with an onion. Same result. It was too hard to make the onion slide against the blade, despite trying different degrees of pressure and the onion always got stuck with the last piece.
We decided it is not a good fit for us as it is too difficult to operate and the pressure and strength needed increases the risk of getting hurt (which I did). Not sure if all mandolines are the same, as this was our first one, but we will just go back to a good old knife, much safer to use.
