Quotes for The God Problem, another Howard Bloom title:
"Enthralling. Astonishing. Written with the panache of the Great Blondin turning somersaults on the rope above Niagara. Profound, extraordinarily eclectic, and crazy. The most exciting cliffhanger of a book I can remember reading." James Burke, creator and host of seven BBC TV series, including Connections
"Bloody hell...What a truly extraordinary book. I'm gob-smacked." Francis Pryor, President of the Council for British Archaeology, author, Britain BC

"Ebullient, enthralling." Alex Wright, Director of User Experience and Product Research, New York Times, author, Glut: Mastering Information Through the Ages
A great book. I raced to finish it and enjoyed every page of the way. For those of us who do not invoke a god(s) to explain things, there is a challenge where did the complexity of the physical and natural world come from? How can we make sense of order without a blueprint or blueprint maker? This deep, provocative, spectacularly well written book provides some answers. It both preaches to the choir and provides a powerful tool for increasing the size of the choir. A wonderful book.” Robert Sapolsky, Stanford U, MacArthur Genius Award winner, author, Why Zebras Don’t Get Ulcers
I have just come out from the giddy ride through things of the mind and mathematics that is The God Problem. Bloom takes us on a magic carpet ride of ideas about: well, about everything. And it turns out that everything we knew about everything is probably wrong. Howard Bloom is the absolute master polymath and his book is an intellectual cave of wonders made more wonderful by the tales of the lives of the people behind the ideas. Don't start this book late at night, for it will banish sleep." Robin Fox, Rutgers University, author, The Tribal Imagination, former director of research for the H. F. Guggenheim Foundation
A must read for those wanting great literature delving into the greatest mysteries.” Edgar Mitchell, sixth astronaut on the moon.
Terrific. I am stupefied by the amount of work Bloom has put in. Bloom is an authentic genius.” Jean Paul Baquiast Institut d'Etudes Politiques de Paris
A profound and extraordinary look into the history of human thought.” Yuri Ozhigov, Chair of Quantum Informatics, Moscow State University
From the Inside Flap
You Are the Bulls Eye
Dabiqthe magazine of ISIS, the Islamic Statementions dirty bombs in Manhattan.”
AP reports that, An al-Qaida leader has said 4 million Americans will have to be killed as a prerequisite to any Islamic victory.’”
Iran says it knows the 29 key weak points it can attack to wipe out Anglo-Saxon civilization.” It’s openly perfecting nuclear-ready missiles that will be capable of reaching Washington and New York as early as 2020.
Pakistan has 130 Islamic bombs,” 130 nuclear warheads. It also has three long-range stealth submarines that could be equipped with nuclear missiles on a minute’s notice, ocean-going submarines that could wipe out up to sixteen American cities. Our navy has enormous difficulty detecting these subs. And Pakistan is in danger of being taken over by its Muslim extremists.
Meanwhile Boko Haram’s leader Abubakar Shekau warns that he will kill you and sell your daughters as sex slaves in the marketplace. He’s already done that with thousands of girls in Nigeria.
ISIS explains that you are an enemy of Allah if you believe in democracy, freedom, rule of law, national independence, scientific thinking, secularism, the Constitution, gay rights, or human rights. And ISIS brags that its goal is terrorizing, massacring, and humiliating the enemies of Allah.” That means you.
How will that terror, massacre, and humiliation” against you be achieved?
How does the life of Muhammad determine the answer?
The Muhammad Code is the story of how a desert prophet set us up for the death cults” of ISIS, al Qaeda, and Boko Haram.
It’s the story of the only founder of a major religion ever to command 65 military campaigns and personally lead 27 of them. And the first to conquer 317 square miles of territory a day. It’s the story of how that prophet set up your ancestors and mine for over 1,300 years of attack and enslavement, the story of how he laid the groundwork for the destruction of superpowers far more potent than the United States, and the story of how he started the longest-running world war in history.
The Muhammad Code is the story of how that prophet demands that his never-ending war be turned against you and me.

The author documents his thesis that Islam has been a religionof war and conquest from its very inception, something those in the West seem to find hard to fathom. He has been well received by those who were raised as Muslims and want to change it so it can serve a more positive role in their lives and societies. I believe he may be a little optimistic here, but he does know a lot of Muslims and has many Muslim friends and supporters, both in the U.S. and the Middle East. Bloom has a vast, international following among political experts, military leaders, and those interested in social psychology. That first edition proved dear to its purchasers and sold out very quickly. However, those who want a new copy of it can do so for $2,000 here on Amazon. Those who cannot afford that can buy used copies for "only" $150! Buy the new 2016 edition.
This work by a genuine polymath is 422 pages long and has close to 2,000 endnotes
This is an expanded version of a book which is quite similar, but which spells " Muhammed" as
"Mohammed." The reviews on Amazon for that work may prove useful for those wondering whether to purchase it or question its value. Alas, it lacks an index, a failing which should be remedied in any future editions. As an academic (Ph. D. Columbia University), I greatly value indices, not only for getting specific information one wants but for understand the contents of a book. I usually start reading non- fiction books by looking first at its index, bibliography (or notes), and table of contents.
Incidentally, I lived in the Middle East for many years.
A must-read for many military leaders, IMHO.
Every time I think Howard Bloom can't surprise me anymore, he does.
Catching up to TODAY's world, as it were, in "The Muhammad Code; How a Desert Prophet Brought You ISIS, al Qaeda, and Boko Haram".......is truly enlightening.
It's times like this, I wish I could read parts of it aloud to those I know who would benefit from the insight. There are a couple persons who need to catch up with 'today's' view of the Middle East, rather than hang on to 'wives-tales'. Matter of fact, don't miss the third chapter. Suz Dove
