Very nice inexpensive DVM. I purchased several of these for my biomed technical classes that I conduct and my students are impressed at the quality of this little meter. The accuracy is very close to my calibrated Fluke DVM. This meter cannot be calibrated.

On the bottom there are three inputs. (Usually they are colour coded, because the ground cable is put in the middle/COM. The earth/ground COM input is always black to distinguish it from the other two.) Left to right; Amps Max 10A/250V, COM is earth/ground negative, Voltage Max 600V. Usually you have a fourth input for mA, but they have combined it with the Voltage inut instead. (Max 200mA/250V)
The big button in the middle is to select and switch between voltage, direct current DC, alternating current AC, resistor, diode test,combined with circuit test, frequency Hz, microAmps, mA milliAmps, A Amps ( all the Amps are available in DC and Ac, if you push the Function button on the top left of the meter. The basic setting is DC if you want AC yo have to push the Function button.
On the select button diode option, diode is the basic setting and to use the circuit test and connectivity option you have to push the function button.
You have an OFF position in both directions of the select button.
On the outer side of the display it clearly shows which function you have chosen.
As a safety suggestion for the digital meter it is advisable to always pick the 10A input and the Amps setting to find out the Max Amps of the device your checking. Never choose the milliAmps mA. ( Just as a hint, it will save you having to buy fuses, because if it is bigger than 200 millAmps it will blow the fuse in the meter straight away and you won't be able to measure anything at all)

Hold button: If you want to remember your measurement you have to measure and then push the hold button , whilst still measuring. It will stay on the display until you press Hold again or move the select button in any direction.Read more ›

This multimeter arrived quickly and well packaged. It's compact size fits well in your hand and the construction feels rugged. The various functions are accurate as compared to several other multimeters that I have. The rotary switch has a decent feel to it and the back light works great. The test leads are of good quality and the banana plugs fit well in the meter. The only con is that the 9 volt battery compartment is too large for the battery causing it to knock around as you move the multimeter, sounding like something is loose. Some double sided tape and a couple of pieces of foam will fix that. Other than that a good buy and should work well for you at this price point.

Good multimeter, easy to use and accurate for the price. Well built unit, probes are nicer than expected. However, the unit I recieved came packed in a box and manual that was for a different model. It was the item I ordered though and compared to the Fluke multimeters these are not bad.

it works well and gets the job done. also it isnt very bulky like some other ones can be. thank you to the person with the doubled sided tape trick. that was my only problem and it solved the issue.

This is a great option for an extremely inexpensive multi meter. If you're not going all out with Fluke, this is the next best thing and considering the price its amazing. The build seems somewhat inexpensive, but I didn't purchase this for looks. It did not seem 100% accurate, but it is definitely close enough.

Pros: accurate, inexpensive, looks decent, easy to use
