“If Dylan Thomas and Buddha shared a soul, 'The Mummery Book' is what I would expect from such a joining.” --—Robert Boldman author, The Alchemy of Love: The Pilgrimage of Sacred Discovery

Those familiar with contemporary philosophy will recognize methodological and thematic parallels with the work of Nietzche, Heidegger, and Derrida (...) --—Frederick M. Dolan, PhDAssociate Professor of Rhetoric, University of California at Berkeley

From the Publisher

Praise for "The Mummery Book" "If Dylan Thomas and Buddha shared a soul, 'The Mummery Book' is what I would expect from such a joining. The book transports the reader across an enlightened domain at the periphery of the rational, linear mind.... —ROBERT BOLDMAN Poet; author, The Alchemy of Love and Sacred Life, Holy Death: Seven Stages of Crossing the Divide

"This book pierces the mind with strange elation. The terrible beauty of the writing is stark and urgent. It confounds the ordinary mind while breaching the passes to something deeper...." —GEOFFREY GUNTHER, PH.D. Author of "Shakespeare as Traditional Artist"

"'The Mummery Book' is brilliant in all its aspects. It would be hard to express my happiness at the way it breaks and exposes the heart of the world. Living and working as a writer for many decades, I have not encountered a book like this, that mysteriously and unselfconsciously conveys so much of the Unspeakable Reality." —ROBERT LAX, Poet, author, Love Had a Compass and (with Thomas Merton) A Catch of Anti-Letters

"A remarkable and profound allegory of the ultimate journey a human being might take. Certainly ranks with Faust, Siddhartha, the Bhagavad Gita and other amazing masterworks, which chronicle the awakening of the individual soul to its true Self. But, most amazing, it has been written in our own era!" —RON SOSSI Artistic Director, Odyssey Theatre Ensemble,Los Angeles, California

"Avatar Adi Da Samraj's 'The Mummery Book' is a most extraordinary novel indeed. While contemporary postmodern fiction claims to have assimilated the most daring philosophical experiments of the twentieth century, too many contemporary authors have forgotten the spiritual substance of these experiments...." —FREDERICK M. DOLAN, PH.D. Professor of Rhetoric, University of California, Berkeley

"'The Mummery Book' is the epic saga of a Self-Radiant psyche on its journey to self-Transcending Realization. See It. Hear It. Consume It again and again...." —THOMAS (SIDNEY) LANIER Co-founder, The Foundation for Conscious Evolution Co-Founder, the off-Broadway American Place Theatre

"Just as I find fresh knowledge with each re-reading of Shakespeare's plays, no matter which work, each time I return to 'The Mummery Book' and its masterful boldness, the way its words startle and surprise and cry out from the heart of its Creator, I feel blessed by its beauty and I am moved by the truth that pulses through its every image." —KENNETH WELSH Actor, many roles on the stage, in movies, and on television. Recipient of six Gemini awards for excellence on Canadian Television. Honorary doctorate from the University of Alberta

"I have finished a second reading of 'The Mummery Book' and find it even more remarkable and moving. It is obviously a book with many levels: an apparently naïve level of narrative and poetic invention concerning Raymond, Quandra and his friends, inventions, followers and betrayers; an allegorical level that concerning coincidence of opposites, gender, and romantic love; a confessional level that seems to some extent private or esoteric, that concerns the education of a soul through a kind of platonic anamnesis; and a revelatory level (subsuming all other levels) concerning the nature of consciousness and how it is continually lost in the ongoing "mummery" of ego-constructed existence...." —PHILIP KUBERSKI, PH.D. Professor of English Literature, Wake-Forest University Author, The Persistence of Memory and Chaosmos: Literature, Science, and Theory

If you are slightly depressed or taking life too seriously, this is a must read. I had just gotten back from traveling through Israel and Palestine for two weeks when I saw this book and had to read it. I couldn't put it down. My husband (also getting back from a war torn area) and I stayed up reading The Mummery Book out loud to each other in the evenings for a week. We were completely ecstatic and it opened up both bizarre and interesting conversations. We both have a philosophical bent and love to study psychology, world religions, and new thought leaders - so we are one of those rare couples that still read together. If you're anything like us-- YOU will Love this book. Guaranteed.

This is not a quick read. . but if you're looking for profound meaning to life and fed up with all the nonsense available today, this book may be for you. Master Da is the greatest teacher in my lifetime. I love reading and absorbing everything he has spoken and written. I took this book on vacation, read it cover to cover, then read it again. I found it deeply disturbing - - the depth that Master Da can touch with words. The more I study of him the fewer people I have to talk with because no one wants to go to such depths. But I do. Anything less. . . is truly less. Read and study the works of Master Da.. open your eyes to profound Truth. Blessings.

Questioning the entirety of the acknowledged reality we face every day, The Mummery Book reveals profound metaphysical and spiritual understandings to its involved readers. The Mummery Book is very strongly recommended to all students of philosophy, modern literature, and especially those questioning the current state of reality in which they reside.

This was SO not a novelisation of the hilariously creative adventure film "The Mummy" with Brandon Fraser! Just some weird ramblings pieced together from various spiritual disciplines by this guru dude named Franklin Jones/Bubba/Da Free John/Adi Da Samraj/La-dee-dah whatever. Don't waste your time here. Watch "The Mummy" and have a great couple of hours of entertainment that could easily get you interested in a real and genuine field such as archaeology, Egyptology or history.
