The author does a superb job of following in the footsteps of so many indie authors before him. The Mungus series contains the requisite number of grammatical errors, mistaken synonyms, and so forth. I'm heartened to see that yet another author has taken up the cause: creativity means never having to say I need an editor.

The cliches in the story work fairly well because the author creates some sympathetic characters, while the stereotypical bad guys ... well, they're bad. Chewing tobacco and spitting, slaughter and torture, and all the fun stuff that will appeal to rebellious youth.

Keep writing, dude. Writing is not a skill easily mastered, but with practice, it's perfect.

Seriously, though: I do believe this author has talent, and may yet become a good writer. I encourage him to acquire an editor.

Mungus: Book 1 by Chad Leito has me dying for book 2 in the series! Already being a fan of Chad Leito’s writing, I am not surprised that I love this book as much as his others. It’s got everything, suspense, thrills, action, graphic descriptiveness making for great mental images and a well thought out plot with plenty of unexpected twists and turns. I love the setting, and the characters, especially brutal the form of entertainment used by the bad guys in this book! This is one talented author and I look forward to more from him! I highly recommend this thoroughly gripping and well written book!

Mungus is a very interesting and captivating read! The author does a great job of developing each character to where you can really picture them, as well as relate to their situations throughout the book. I am normally not a science fiction reader, but this book really pleasantly surprised me. Walter is the main character in the story and he has many struggles. There are a lot of references to dark things such as slavery and brutal battles to the death for sport and entertainment. I don’t like giving the plots away to things I read so I will leave it at that. I would highly recommend to everyone! I am sure you will enjoy it as much or even more than I did.

This is a very good story, however the length is nowhere near the 352 pages that is listed in the description. It has an interesting premise and the character development isn't bad. Would I read it again? Yes. Would I pay for it? No. I feel cheated. That is too bad since I enjoyed his other books.

I can't wait for more books from Chad Letto. I'm sad when his books end.

book one is 35 pages, book two is only 20. I could not believe it was over when the story was just getting started. At this length, 99 cents is not a worth it. But thanks for the cheap lesson - I will ALWAYS check the number of pages of any "book" that I purchase in the future.
