This album is a lot of fun. A collection of Muppet favorites from the good ol' days.

The first fourteen songs are taken from THE MUPPET SHOW (1976-1981) and the remainder of the album is composed of selections from the first several Muppet films, which makes this collection a convenient one-stop Muppet music destination.

It's been too long since I've seen THE MUPPET SHOW, but this collection includes standout performances like "Mahna Mahna", "Bein' Green", "Happy Feet", and, of course, the immortal "Muppet Show Theme".

And this CD takes the absolute best from the films, as well: four songs from THE MUPPET MOVIE (1979), three from THE GREAT MUPPET CAPER (1981), three from THE MUPPETS TAKE MANHATTAN (1984), one apiece from THE MUPPET CHRISTMAS CAROL (1992) and MUPPET TREASURE ISLAND (1996), and a version of "I'm Going To Go Back There Someday" originally recorded for MUPPETS FROM SPACE (1999).

This is the best (only?) album of classic Muppet songs I have found. And a great compilation it is. Any CD with "Mahna Mahna", "Rainbow Connection", "Bein' Green", "Happiness Hotel", and "The Muppet Show Theme" all on one disc is a winner in my book. I haven't seen the individual movie soundtracks available on CD, so this might be the only place to find The Electric Mayhem's "Can You Picture That?", Baby Piggy's "I'm Gonna Always Love You", or your other favorites.

I recently watched THE MUPPETS TAKE MANHATTAN and the only thing that would make this CD more perfect, in my mind, would be the inclusion of the touching "Saying Goodbye". But there's only so much space on one disc and that particular film is already well-represented.

So, to recap, you get fourteen classic songs from THE MUPPET SHOW, then some mini-soundtracks from the three Jim Henson-era movies, followed by three songs from the 1990s Muppet films. This really is a Muppets greatest hits album.

This CD is great for everyone: kids, adults, old Muppet fans, new Muppet fans, and nostalgia buffs. It's thoroughly enjoyable from start to finish and it's reasonably priced.

Buy it for your kids! Buy it for your friends! Buy it for yourself!

Just like many of the ones who have posted their reviews, I too grew up watching the Muppets. Growing up I had an old copy of the original Muppet Movie soundtrack, and listened to it over and over again. And, like all childhood things, it got lost. After searching and searching, I was very excited to find this CD. Although it is missing some favorite songs, it has a wide variety of classics.
I appreciate how the songs in this soundtrack go in order, from the TV show, to the movies. You will love to hear clips from the Muppet Show. I had never heard the Fozzie Bear monologue before. It is hilarious. Timeless comedy that you don't see or hear in children's programming today.
From there, it is a "best of" Muppet Movie hits. From Rainbow Connection to Happiness Hotel, you will be delighted. The music is upbeat, funny, catchy, memorable, and will put a snap to your step the rest of the day. You may want a CD that has more, but for the price this CD gives you enough classics to leave you very happy.

I ordered this CD after trying to find the soundtrack from the original Muppet Movie. That's when I found out that soundtrack is in HIGH demand. Since this CD had the favorite tracks we were looking for from the Muppet Movie (Rainbow Connection & Movin' Right Along) as well as some other classic muppet tunes (Muppet show theme song, the Dancing Bear, etc.)this was the perfect solution at a much more reasonable price. A win-win in our book.

As with any CD I've ever purchased there are a few songs that aren't our faves but we can always skip over those and repeat the ones we like as many times as we want!!

My boys are 10 and 13 and our family loves this CD. It's the perfect road trip CD.

This CD surpassed all expectations - it's just brilliant! We've listened to the CD a great deal since it arrived and it doesn't get old. The first half of the recording captures the essence of the Muppet Shop - we particularly love Marvin Suggs and his Muppaphone, it always makes us laugh! The latter half of the CD has great showstopping tracks from the Muppet films - which really took us back...we've subsequently bought the films on DVD. Can't recommend highly enough.
