Spy Muppets: License To Croak is what happens when you put James Bond and The Muppets in a blender. When I picked the game up, I was expecting a platformer, and I didn't get it. Does that mean the game is bad? Let's look at it.
The story is that three super villains are planning something foul and Agent Frog (Kermit) Must stop them. The villains are King Prawn (Pepe) Dr. Nose (Gonzo) and Piggy Galore (Miss. Piggy). Story is paper thin and really just a means to push the game along, but it's not awful for what it is.
Gameplay is...odd. You start by pressing buttons to turn them red, green, or yellow. You make a pattern to chase down a villain. Then you have to fix a vehicle (because Agents B and B [Bunsen and Beaker] are too busy with "Other Projects) to have it done. Then you chase the villain, before having a fight with the henchmen, before fighting the villain and getting a gadget. Rinse and repeat two more times, fight the final boss (not saying who) and that's the game. You can seriously beat this game in twenty minutes if you know what you're doing. Here's an extra thing though, if you lose to the boss you can play another mini game where you play as one of the support agents to save Agent Frog. These are Agent Argh (Animal) Agent Rat (Rizzo) and Triple F (Fozzie).
Where the game really shines is presentation. The classic Muppets humor is here and in tact For example, Dr. Nose wants to turn the Earth into an egg, when you wreck the snowmobile you ride Fozzie down the mountain instead, and Pepe still overuses the word Okay. But that by itself won't save the game for anyone but die-hard Muppet fans. This game is tough to recommend because of that. I personally enjoy it but I so rarely play it that I forgot I had it (or that it even existed) until just today. But, in the end, if you do want this game, you'll be happy to know it's dirt cheap.
