I must always thank myeditor, Jennifer Silva Redmond. Without her, I would time travel, eat foodbefore it is served, and continuously scamper. She saves me from my vices.
A big thank you goes toCarol Betancourt. She won a silent auction item to have a character named afterher in this book. Her name is already great, but she preferred to have herhusband's name in the book, Rodolfo. It's a fabulous name, and I hope I'vegiven him the fabulous role he deserves. Thank you for not being "John Smith."
Joe Felipe alwaysgives me exactly the cover I'm looking for.
Finally, a bigthank you to my husband, Dale, for constantly checking his watch and askingwhen I'm going to become famous. I'm working on it, honey.

I hadn’t read the previous books in this series, but while there were a few things that you probably needed to know, this can be read as a standalone. I liked Peri’s spunkiness; that she was always landing herself in hot water, but always got herself out. I liked Benny’s calm personality, how he liked to have things just so, and I thought he was a good assistant for Peri and a great character. This was well written, with some great characters and a fun storyline. I definitely want to go back and start with book 1 so I can get more of Peri and company. Nicely done.
Her brother's been framed for murder - serially. She insinuates herself in his case, despite the advice of her fiance, a police officer on medical leave from the force.
I found myself trying to solve the mystery with her and succumbing to her quick and witty quips. Enough shady characters to confuse a reader - and one to love: a young man in 'the Spectrum' who serves as her 'assistant', sometimes getting in her way with his peevish need for order and sometimes helping in remarkable and endearing ways.
Underneath this mystery is a life lesson: Love conquers all.
