What a fun start for a new series! It's a whole new life for Bonnie in the big city now

This was really an enjoyable cozy with a younger main character than usual, but she was someone anyone would want to claim as a daughter. Bonnie was a dedicated student, and her friend Katie Lou was the fun-loving girl who'd struck it rich but was smart with her money. The two of them together made a good sleuthing team. The apartment complex sure had quite the assortment of tenants, but they were all pretty memorable, so it wasn't like they were just neighbors in passing.

The whole goat in the police car scene was hilarious, and little Sylvester definitely won a lot of people over with how cute he was. I wish Officer James could win Bonnie over with how cute he is, lol. How long would it really take her to go to dinner with him. ;) They did work well together on the case, so I'm going to hold out hope she'll eventually date him, although I have to applaud her wanting to stay with her classes and be serious about studying once they start up again. The planned showdown was a good one. I always love when the main character can make that plan with the police and stay safer! I'm really anxious for the next book.

Sylvester the goat is cute but Bonnie is either very naive or downright stupid to break into the flats of people living in her building searching for clues after a neighbour has been murdered.
