When I first heard that Bleed The Sky was doing a new album I was very excited because I first heard of them off Pandora and from that I purchased Paradigm in Entropy and I loved their sound.

I got their album this morning and I really enjoy it. I've listened to the album in its' entirety 4 times thus far. I really enjoy it and I love their use of their backing vocals. Overall the album has a similar sound from song to song which I am ok with since their sound is refreshing to me. It sounds different than Paradigm in Entropy, I personally feel the vocals a harsher and the guitars pack more of a punch.

A particular interesting song is Occam's Razor. The entire album is like a punch in the face and in the very middle of the song they throw in Occam's Razor to give you a break before ripping your face off once again. The entire album is deep with the guitar work/harsh vocals and yet in the very middle, track 6 out of 12 tracks, they give you a break. Occam's Razor is a slow paced, calm song done entirely by the backing vocals. Noah's vocals are non-existant in the track.

Of course it can be a bad thing that no other track jumps out(to me at least) but I still think this is a great album that is well worth the money.

This album by Bleed the Sky is a great example of the new metal that is coming out of America today. A few years ago, I was mostly listening to scandinavian metal bands because I like their style much more but American metal is beginning to evolve and find its new more sophisticated and composed sound. This album is a representation of that. It remains hard with the hint of melody that only true metal heads can pick up on. The album, overall, is great. It is definitely possible and recommended to listen all the way through. I see some complaints from other reviewers being disappointed at the fact that bleed the sky has strayed from what they liked from the first cd. I never heard their first cd but I wouldnt rate the album lower because it was not a carbon copy of their first album. Anyways, if you like good hard metal with some melody, this album is definitely worth a buy. Great drum work, singing, composition, and guitar work combine to make this album awesome.

Musically, this record is worth every penny and then some. It's really too bad these guys got screwed on their production with this record. Christian from FF really blew it. I don't know them personally, but one of my best friends is really close with them and they're good guys. Support this crew and help keep a great band going.

I realize this isn't a pointed musical review, but I think what I said was worth mentioning.

Ah, Bleed the Sky. How we, your humble listeners, have missed you. You, with your pounding riffage, always great lyrics, and your wonderful screaming. Oh how we have yearned for your long-awaited return.

Thus we are greeted with your debut-topping Murder the Dance. "How do you do it?" I am forced to ask. Paradigm in Entropy was such an exhilerating listen that I enjoy to this day. And yet, you have seemingly taken every great aspect from that and pushed the envelope even further. Your distinctive screams are even more intense, your singing is more polished and all around better, your riffs demand more attention and your drums pound harder than imagined.

I must admit, however, I was becoming agitated that it took you fellas this long to grace us with your presence again. Murder the Dance, though, is the only reason you must provide, for from beginning to end there is not one song that deserves to be passed over. Even your foray into the unknown, Occam's Razor, proves you can pull a complete 180 and surprise your most loyal of fans.

Even with the new ground being covered, you still manage to present us with some of your best material to date. Murder the Dance and Bastion are proof positive that you are a band to reckon with. Oh, Bleed the Sky, I must declare, that the ending to your title track simply blew my mind, for you have never seemed as focused or angry.

Here, just for posterity, are my favorite songs. Sullivan, Murder the Dance, Occam's Razor, Bastion, and The Demons That Could Be. So from now on, as a pledge to you, oh mighty Bleed the Sky, I shall never doubt you again. For those who have not yet picked this up...Go...Now...
