This is a very quick read and the action moves very quickly.
Although the Inspector continually asks Diane to remove herself from the investigation, she ignores him. She finds clues, and gathers information and she is the one who finally figures out the exact identity of the murderer.
I enjoyed the story, but I got rather annoyed with Diane. She is one of those people in cozy mysteries who does as she pleases no matter what the police request. I believe in real life that would get her arrested. After a time, that gets old.
The story is very well written and the mystery moves from clue to clue in a speedy manner. Ms Sotheby is a talented author who has created a good read.
This particular book is the best in the series so far, it has an original plot and I failed completely to identify the culprit, until they were revealed towards the end.
Ms Sotheby is fast becoming the new Agatha Christie, and I highly recommend her books, and this one in particular to anyone who loves a great mystery.
I am a big fan of the well drawn characters and the smooth flow of the mysteries.
The book is a little bit more toward the edge of cozy and thriller but so much fun and probably my favourite in the series so far.
I voluntarily read and reviewed an ARC of this book from the author. Thoughts and opinions are my own.
