Very rarely do you find an author who can respectively capture the essence of the south and that quaint southern charm, but Amy Metz has done just that. Jennifer of Southern Belle
"This book is pure southern charm and had me longing for a glass of sweet tea and the friendship of these wonderful characters. So excited this is the first in a series...just fantastic!" Melissa Lapierre, Mochas, Mysteries and More

The comedy kept folks at work coming by my cubicle to see what the commotion was. Don't try to read this while lying next to your sleeping spouse. I look forward to reading more from this author, and perhaps even of this setting.
The story is set in Goose Pimple Junction, Alabama. The residents, for the most part, are kind and friendly which is what Divorcee Tess Tremaine is seeking as she writes a novel. Who does she meet first? A handsome, clever, and witty ...Author. Jackson. Not only is he an author, but, he is working on his tenth novel...stress, major stress.
The house Tess purchased is just what she was looking for. What she wasn't looking for...a murder mystery. One that still seems to be going on. Tess and Jack find the key to the murders but will they solve it before they are counted among the dead?
This story had me chuckling, wanting cakes, and trying to figure out just who the culprit was.
Enjoy...at the ending you will find out this fiction work was based upon a real tragedy! Surprise!
But back to the book itself: The characters are lovable and enjoyable. Some are more well developed than others, but there is a big cast of characters here. And while there are many characters to know, by the end of the book, I felt I knew them well. I liked the switch back and forth between the past (the 1930s, when the murders took place) to the present. The author, Amy Metz, managed to inform the reader about what was happening with these historical passages, without giving too much away. I've already ordered Goose Pimple Junction book #2 and look forward to more happy reading ahead!
