"Murder & Mayhem in Goose Pimple Junction" has southern charm, southern humor, mystery, danger and a cast of characters with personality. Amy Metz goes ... from the 1930s to 2011 without confusion. Metz has loaded the book with southern speak that takes a little getting used to but adds charm and reality to the story. The story will keep you guessing ... as to who the bad guys are, right up to the surprise conclusion. ... a funny, southern style mystery that no one should pass up. This is a good book and Amy Metz has given us a winner.
- Trudi LoPreto, Readers' Favorite
"This book will soon be a favorite for all southerners. Very rarely do you find an author who can respectively capture the essence of the south and that quaint southern charm, but Amy Metz has done just that."
- Jennifer, book reviewer for Southern Belle
"Enticed by a mystery, riveted to the swoon-worthy romance and tickled by the "countrified" life, I was thoroughly entertained on all levels."
- Carmen Pacheo, book reviewer for The Reading Café
This book is absolutely delightful! I was immediately immersed in this gem of a novel from the very first page. The local figures of speech and 'Southernisms' put the reader deep into the wonderful word Amy Metz has created. The town of Goose Pimple Junction is so vividly portrayed, it's practically a character in itself. As if all of this isn't enough to make a reader enjoy this book, it is also a wonderfully crafted mystery.
- Leti Del Mar, The Inadvertent Thief
This is a very unusual book, mixing humor, romance, mystery, and a quirky cast of characters, all in a very indelible small town setting. The book is an easy, effortless read, but the fact is the author made a risky, difficult artistic choice, but still pulled it off!
- Brent Hartinger, author of the Russel Middlebrook series
Ms. Metz has a way with her southern charm and it is evident in all of her characters, even the bad guys! The story is well written, especially the parts that weave from historical fact to present fiction. You will long for more of Ms. Metz's "goosepimpleisms" long after you've finished the book. Excellent read, hopeful for a sequel.

Please note that my books are fiction. I live in Kentucky, and I love the South and its people. I am a lover andcollector of a good Southern phrase. I'm happy to hear when reviewersshare that love. I hope readers willescape to Goose Pimple Junction and realize it is a fictional town, byno means representative of any town in the country.

The comedy kept folks at work coming by my cubicle to see what the commotion was. Don't try to read this while lying next to your sleeping spouse. I look forward to reading more from this author, and perhaps even of this setting.
The story is set in Goose Pimple Junction, Alabama. The residents, for the most part, are kind and friendly which is what Divorcee Tess Tremaine is seeking as she writes a novel. Who does she meet first? A handsome, clever, and witty ...Author. Jackson. Not only is he an author, but, he is working on his tenth novel...stress, major stress.
The house Tess purchased is just what she was looking for. What she wasn't looking for...a murder mystery. One that still seems to be going on. Tess and Jack find the key to the murders but will they solve it before they are counted among the dead?
This story had me chuckling, wanting cakes, and trying to figure out just who the culprit was.
Enjoy...at the ending you will find out this fiction work was based upon a real tragedy! Surprise!
But back to the book itself: The characters are lovable and enjoyable. Some are more well developed than others, but there is a big cast of characters here. And while there are many characters to know, by the end of the book, I felt I knew them well. I liked the switch back and forth between the past (the 1930s, when the murders took place) to the present. The author, Amy Metz, managed to inform the reader about what was happening with these historical passages, without giving too much away. I've already ordered Goose Pimple Junction book #2 and look forward to more happy reading ahead!
