About the Author
Maggie King is the author of Murder at the Book Group, a Hazel Rose Book Group Mystery; she also wrote the short stories "A Not So Genteel Murder" and "Reunion in Shockoe Slip" for the Virginia is for Mysteries anthologies. Murder at the Book Group received favorable reviews from BeachCrafters Books, Booklist, Harriet Klausner, Publisher's Weekly, Suspense Magazine, and many blogs. Maggie has been a guest and interviewee on Cyrus Webb's Conversations Book Club as well as on a number of blogs, including Dru's Musings, International Thriller Writers, Mystery Fanfare, and Shelf Pleasure. A lifelong love of reading, especially mysteries, led Maggie to participate in a number of book groups. There she observed the full range of human behavior, with passionate readers often clashing with other passionate readers, giving Maggie the idea to write a series of murder mysteries focusing on book groups. Maggie lives in Richmond, Virginia with her husband, Glen, and two indulged cats. Murder at the Moonshine Inn is her second novel in the Hazel Rose Book Group series.

Hazel is a romance writer who belongs to a local book club. Although she enjoys reading mysteries, she doesn't consider herself an amateur detective but she does believe in helping family. So, when the wife of one of her newly discovered cousins is murdered and her cousin is the number one suspect, she enlists the help of the members in her book club to prove his innocence. In doing so, she places her own life in serious jeopardy.
I highly recommend this book to anyone who enjoys trying to solve a mystery.
Alternatively, Murder at Moonshine Inn is an entertaining cozy mystery, filled with a perfect mix of likable and unlikable characters, and plenty of suspects and plot twists to keep you guessing throughout. Ms. King cleverly and legitimately gives us one suspect after another for Hazel Rose, and the other members of her book club, to consider in the murder of Roxanne. Just when we think we know who it is, something else happens to throw suspicion elsewhere. (Avoiding spoilers here.)
Deftly written, well crafted, humorous and suspenseful, this is a book that keeps you turning the pages as you follow the clues to the surprising conclusion!
Maggie's writing is both comical and suspenseful. You'll keep turning pages until you reach the end!
