I just finished the last page of your book and let me first say that 'you have a great way of putting words together'. Some of it zings of prose.
As far as your book is concerned, I loved it. There were quite a few typos (particularly leaving out words such as 'his, hers, the' which was bothersome to me but not enough that I put your book down and said 'no more'. I was surprised of the very quick "friendship" that developed between Addie and Schooner. One minute I felt he was old and not a handsome twit; the next minute he is requesting her help. A little faster than most but it did speed the story along.
The name Fairley kept me confused in the beginning as the very name seemed masculine. I know she made up that name but not a good one. All of my latter sentences are unnecessary because the bones of the book were good. I am certainly going to recommend this book to my Amazon forum friends but the profanity might turn some away. In fact, profanity was discussed at length just the other day/night and most thought it unnecessary. I have read so many 'cozies' written by women that I have gotten away from the 'suspense, thriller, political expose' type books that are often filled with profanity. In cozies that doesn't seem to be the norm, by any stretch of the imagination. However, if it was real life I guess I can see a female saying JUST those words in her profession. All in all, I shall certainly buy your next book and would like to know when you think one will hit the Internet. And, I hope my review will cause more people to give your book a chance. I think you have more good books in you.
I appreciate and enjoy your talent.
ps: Please quit giving older people bad names - we are not all decrepit and slow thinkers - we DO buy lots of books! I have 5,369 on one Kindle plus 3 other Kindles, so please give us a break.
