The book for me is an excellent read. Im halfway through it right now. I got it because I'm a Murder She Wrote fan. Besides getting pics and DVDS on Ebay, I found this book as well. I also wish to thank Ron Masak, because Im on his fan page and asked him what would be a good book to read on Hollywood, he mentioned this one, and Ron, thanks a bunch!! Whooo Hooo!!
Peter does mention that all of us should follow our dreams, if not the big one, those that we can, he did!! He jumped into the water of writing and kept on going, never looked back.
He also got to meet many of the big stars in Hollywood, Im not a writer, so, you will have to go and get the book yourself to read. If you are a fan of Murder She Wrote, Colombo and many others, this is the book for you!!
At the end of book Fischer introduces his new book series, about post WWII Hollywood starring a studio publicist as the main character. They are great! I've bought 4 of the books so far and I've really liked all of them. I highly recommend these books. They have the great style that Fischer brought to "Murder, She Wrote", "Columbo", and "Ellery Queen". The books are all available through Amazon and I think you would be better off buying them than this book. Sorry, not trying to be disrespectful to Mr. Fischer but his new series is great.
While there is a bit about the making of Murder, She Wrote, the majority of the story revolves around the business side of Hollywood. In other words, it's only partially about actors and actresses and personal stories.
A few dates and ages don't quite match up if you should find yourself googling unfamiliar names, but as this is "an unauthorized biography," I feel that this just serves to remind the reader to take everything with a grain of salt.
All together, I would recommend this book if you like to listen to movie commentaries or watch behind-the-scenes clips.
You can call It obsession or something more - don't, SHE makes me happy, that's all! And I'd be greatfull till my last day on Earth!
God bless Her!!!
