Given the opportunity, would you assume someone else's identity and leave your old life behind?
A seemingly serendipitous crossing of paths between Lisa Barnes, a down-on-her-luck job seeker, and Julie Forman, a personal trainer to an Olympic hopeful, forever changes the course of both women's lives. Meanwhile, bodies are piling up in Chicago, New Jersey, and Vermont as a megalomaniacal genius will stop at nothing to eradicate anyone who threatens the success of his medical
With an unhinged client and a monstrous criminal enterprise as its adversary, Forensic Instincts is forced into uncharted territory to protect their client and save one of their own from becoming the next corpse.
THE FORENSIC INSTINCTS TEAM:
A behaviorist. A former Navy SEAL. A techno-wizard. An intuitive. A retired FBI agent. A human-scent-evidence dog. A reformed pickpocket. Together, they achieve the impossible, pushing ethical and legal boundaries whenever the ends justify the means.

Emma, the newest member of Forensic Instincts, reads about Lisa's death in the paper and is outraged. The police have no leads and don't seem interested in really pursuing the case any further. Lisa, like Emma, had been a foster kid and had gotten in some trouble when she was younger. Emma feels this has prejudiced the police against her which is why they aren't actively looking into her death. So Emma goes to Ryan, the team's computer expert, and asks him to look into it for her. Pretty soon the entire team is protecting Lisa and her friend Milo as they try to find out who's after them and why.
Murder, mayhem, and chaos ensue. This one had all the action and suspense one would hope for in this kind of book. Andrea Kane has produced another winner. I especially liked the use of Emma this time as she tries to solidify her place with the team. Definitely recommend.
My only tiny nitpick with this book is that I wish there had been a bit less written from the perspective of the secondary characters; sometimes these sections got a bit long. Other than that, I am completely hooked on this series and am eagerly anticipating the next book.
recommend them to anyone.
