Just this one book written jointly with Peter Travers, a record of a hugely rewarding mid-life adventure - an independent Land Rover journey across the Sahara to West and Central Africa.
Our aim in writing the book was to enable others to share the sights and adventures of our journeys - this is an extraordinarily interesting and dramatically colourful part of the world, but few people will ever have a chance to see it.
The events described in the book were followed by further journeys in the same Land Rovers over the next several years, through Africa, the Middle East, Central Asia, India, and China - - 2 or 3 months at a time and then back to New Zealand to work.
The print version of the book was published only in New Zealand (where it sold well), but ebook technology has now enabled international publication. After some experimentation we have been able to retain almost all of the photos and visual impact of the original in the colour ebook version.
Murray Gough was Chief Executive of a large New Zealand corporation for several years prior to the Sahara journey, and has worked since then as Chairman and Director of a number of public and private companies.
Peter Travers was a recently retired senior banking executive, and has also continued to work as private company Director.
