If the author does a 2nd Edition of this book, I wish he would expand his scope of Southern Gospel Music Musicians. I wish he would include more Southern Gospel Bluegrass bands & artists, like Doyle Lawson & Quicksilver & others, and some contemporary Southern Christian Rock Bands like Third Day from Atlanta, & Jo Jo Billingsly, the former backup singer for Lynyrd Skynyrd, who now is an ordained Minister who sings & records Southern Gospel Music. Also, I wish he would condider including The Blind Boys of Alabama, and Mahalia Jackson. He does include the Issaas (Gospel Bluegrass) in this 1st Edition & Thomas Dorsey (The Atlanta Bluesman who converted to Gospel Music.) Also, it includes the magazine "The Singing News", which is devoted to "Classic Southern Gospel Music". Overall, this is a great reference book for Southern Gospel fans. It does contain all the "classic", "mainstream" Southern Gospel Groups & Artists. Overall, it is a GREAT 1st Generation Encyclopedia of Southern Gospel Music. If you're a Southern Gospel Music fan, you'll love this book.
Thanks, and May God Bless!!!
Murray's Encyclopedia of Southern Gospel Music-by David Murray.
I suppose it is worth the price for the minimal information included in the book.
