Good music but the mp3 version is not a continuous mix.

I purchased the Mp3 version and the songs do not blend at all. They just all delay out and then the next song starts. The beats are good but if you are looking for a mix, like every other iteration in this series, you will be sorely disappointed. I downloaded one track from itunes as well to verify and apparently this is how their version is sold as well. So, musically it's a 4 of 5, as a mix its a 0 of 5 since it isn't one.
Can anyone verify that the cd is in fact a continuous mix?

I ended up buying the CD and it is a continous mix. Thank you to others that clarified. So get the CD and its great, 4 out of 5. Or, get the digital download and be wholly underwhelmed.

I love Farina's work, particularly the MJ series. I am severely disappointed by this purchase, as it is not the real version of MJ8. From what i understand, the CD and vinyl versions are the real deal, but for reasons beyond my comprehension the MP3 version is just the raw source tracks with none of Mark Farina's magic applied. This would serve as an interesting bonus disc to illustrate his genius. Unfortunately, as it is, it is only a series of unconnected, unrelated beats. This is not what I thought I was paying for, and I feel ripped off.

I love Mark Farina! I've seen him live a few times, and have had the pleasure of owning all of his Mushroom Jazz Albums, as well as some of his other work.However, I find this album a bit disappointing. Given his recent close collaborations with the likes of DJ Sneak and Demuir; and the return of popularity in House music, that we would see a funkier Mushroom Jazz like Volumes 2, 4, and 5. Instead, the majority of the album has a nice clean mix that is more background noise in a lounge than the head-bopping Farina-esque music we're accustomed to. The end of the album does have thicker bass with that signature groove Mark Farina is known for putting on, but it's not enough. This shouldn't be your average "Bargrooves" compilation. This is the 25th anniversary of a Movement in music that redefined a whole genre! You should expect greatness! This album is definitely worth hearing if you're a fan, and worth owning if you love the Mushroom Jazz series. Just don't expect to be listening to it all day.

Great starting at 8! This mix does not really kick in until track 8, but when it does POW. That's the good stuff. This CD is where Mushroom should have always been. There is enough hip hop out there, let modern jazz/funk breath. Sound Quality is way better than the old tapes and grooves are jazzier and funkier. Mark great job! (not that he's reading, but if he is) let the sneaker kids and Pete have boom-bap, keep making Mushroom Jazz!!! And tell me if you need a live piano player for samples.
