The drum set itself is a good quality for the price. If you have a toddler who enjoys banging on things, this is a great gift. However, before I made this purchase I scanned the reviews (after viewing other options,) and saw a lot of comments expressing appreciation for the set for their young child. That sold it for me. I figured I wanted to buy a nice set for my 7 year old, but I needed to gauge his interest before investing in a higher quality set. While I agree the quality is nice for the price, anyone one commenting saying it was great for their 6/7/8 year old must have a really tiny child. My 7 year old is average size and this set looked like a toy for a toddler next to him, not a great choice for a 7 year old music student. For that reason alone I regret the purchase and wish I would have just bitten the bullet and gone for an actual drum set. I'm just having a hard time understanding who the set is for. It has all the bells and whistles for an older child, but it's too small for anyone over 5, yet it's too advanced for a toddler who would be happy beating on a single drum.

Always Falling Apart No Matter What!!!

I settled on this set which is more expensive than the one I was going to get, but the positive reviews on here are either lies or they were paid to give a good review. This drum set is definitely a WASTE OF MONEY! From the moment we unboxed it, it already had chipped wood all around the base drum or the bigger drum... the snare is not really a snare... and the worse thing about this set is that it constantly comes lose! The screws do not stay in place... we had to constantly tighten them... it’s very frustrating!!! The screw on the kick thing keeps falling off no matter what! The screws holding the snare drum and the other one always gets lose and finally the drums are just flapping. Not a solid set, very cheaply made, bad quality, and overall not worth $80. The Walmart $20 drum set is at least more durable and can get a beating without falling apart! Beware! Do not buy this set or you will be just as disappointed as I am at Amazon about this product! I hope they see these reviews and make it right! This item is defective and cannot work properly! They shouldn’t even sell it if the screws comes lose so easy. What if a 2 year old puts it in his/her mouth and chokes on it? It’s really not safe and too pricey for such a piece of trash set of drums. $80 is a lot for it. I’d say it should be $20-$30... but definitely not worth $80.

We ordered this set on April 19, 2020, received it on May 1st 2020, and it’s only been a week and the set has fallen apart over 10 times! When I say fallen apart, I mean, screws loosening up or falling out of place, drums flapping around because the screws that were supposed to hold them in place came lose... and the kick thing also is very frustrating.... it doesn’t stay in place! The whole set is a piece of junk! After 2 days of constantly falling apart, I went to see reviews here and found out that a few others have the same issues we are having. Had I known and read their reviews before we purchased, I would not have wasted my time and money to buy this set. Hopefully my honest review help some of you. I would NOT recommend this product to anyone!!!

This is an amazing set of drums for the price. It's a miniature drum set, not a toy. The are very solid and sound great. As someone who doesn't know much about drums I had almost no problems following the directions to set these up (the foot pedal was what confused me). We had to repair a part putting it together, but it was minor. The only issue we have is that the poor the cymbal is on falls after a while, and once the part that holds it feel into the drum so we had to take it apart. It wasn't a big deal at all. It's the perfect size for my 4 and 5 year old boys, and though it's small my husband can pay them too. The stool is very sturdy.

Drum set is pretty good quality. Real wood drums with metal hardware with a tensioning key to tune each drum. Stool is great too and can go pretty low. I had to put it to the very last setting for my 3 yr old daughter. Only bad thing one of the drum sticks looks chewed at the end. See photo. I will see if they can send a new set.

Really fun drum set for kids and adults!

I can’t express how happy my 2 year old is with this drum set. He plays them every day! The quality of the drums are great for the price! I do have a few recommendations though.

1. Watch your young kids around these. My 2 year old was able to unscrew a bolt on the pedal and started sucking on it. The pedal is a total choking hazard for young kids so we put the base pedal in hiding and only take it out when we plan to play. Granted he’s the son of an engineer so I’m not surprised he is disassembling nuts and bolts at 2.
2. Before assembling, use a wrench and tighten the nuts inside the drum where they connect together. If you don’t they will come loose. No manufacturer is going to use lock tite, so over time you may need to readjust the nuts/bolts inside the drum. I think many of the negative reviews on amazon are from People who expect absolutely no maintenance with a musical instrument.
3. Like any drums, you can hit them hard, but they will dent with abuse. Make sure your kids aren’t just whacking them as hard as they can. Even professional drums are not going to hold up to that kind of abuse

For the money though I am extremely pleased with this drum set. They might require the occasional bolt tightening like anything else, but they’re made with pretty solid quality and I’m impressed!

I would not recommend this drum for the following reasons;

1. The quality is cheap
2. Doesn't feel sturdy when fully assembled
3. The drum diaghram (one of the two smaller drums) broke in less than 3 months (used by a 5yr old)

I bought it for my son as birthday gift (he always wanted a drum set)

Save money by buying something of better quality that'll last longer even if a bit more expensive.
