This book demonstrates that a serious study of music theory doesn't have to rely solely on centuries-old classical examples. Oh, they're in there, but so are stimulating and informative examples from the Beatles and David Bowie to Queen and King Crimson. It's a delightfully fresh approach to teaching music theory in a thorough and contemporary manner. Highly recommended for instructors and self-study students alike.
