I was looking for a nice inexpensive stand that wont break the bank but also wont contribute to breaking a guitar... or keep it from falling and creating some damage of some sort. I read some reviews and despite the reviews of the pads eating away at your finish on the guitart I decided to purchase it. I put a little towel over the pads just in case but one day I noticed that my guitar was directly on the pads... maybe my gf mved the guitar cleaning or I did, who knows? All I know is "OH S*&^" came out of my mouth and I rushed to the guitar and slowly picked it up expecting to see damage... nope it was fine. If a whole night and day didnt damage it then It should be ok. I havent used a towel since and I havent had any issues with it/ ( going on about 8 months not) longest it sat was 6 weeks.

These types of stands are the best for your guitar as they put no stress on the neck in any direction, unlike the ones that have a neck rest at the back or hang from the wall or ceiling. The stand is sturdy and well-built. It will hold both acoustic and electric guitars. The stand collapses flat for easy packing. Highly recommended. But be aware, the best place to keep your acoustic guitar is in its case with inexpensive humidity control devices like Zorb-Its. Leaving instruments on this or any other stand through the dry winter months can destroy even the finest guitars. Use this only for playing out or during a party or extended practice sessions or what have you. Otherwise, keep it cased.

Arrived very quickly. The Stand is of EXCEPTIONAL QUALITY, however there was a manufactured in defect I had read about. BE WARNED- the padding will eat into a guitar finish. I feel sorry for the manufacturer because of such an unfortunate mistake. Besides that this item is of extremely good manufacture. I just fitted some PLASTIC tubing (an old irrigation line) over the contact areas, and used some black electric tape for the rear support. (Ya probably could just use some old socks.)
THE MUSICIAN'S GEAR A-FRAME ACOUSTIC GUITAR STAND - is an exception piece of equipment for a give away price.
Does the job, reasonable price too. A little larger and heavier than I expected. I wanted to use it for my bari uke (my other uke stands were a little too small for it) but this one is larger than necessary. Also I was hoping to use it to set my uke down when I'm out and about with uke , so something a little smaller, lighter and more portable would have been better, but this one is fine for use around the house. It's the kind of item that you really should see in person and try your instrument out in it, but I don't live near any music stores so I often have to take my chance and buy a pig in a poke.
I recently bought two of these - at the price I paid it didn't make sense to me to always be lugging one back and forth between the two places I use it. That turned out to be a better decision than I had thought as I'm used to being able to carry guitar and stand together with one hand. One down side to this stand is that that's impossible since the stand doesn't come up the neck like traditional designs do. Other than that, I'd be happier with something soft at the top of the A-frame for the back of my guitar to rest on. I'm careful and doubt that the plastic/rubber there is going to mar the finish, but a little felt or something would have been nice. I like the low profile, the ease of packing along with much else for a gig, the guitar-centered way it presents a guitar it's holding, ease of folding (though it just folds so the feet come together - nowhere near as compact as some other designs like this I've seen), and very sturdy construction. I really like the way it allows me to grab the neck of the guitar as I approach, since no part of the stand comes anywhere near the neck. I was really impressed when they arrived. The design seems a bit cheap, maybe, but the construction is really confidence inspiring - and really, all it has to do is hold a guitar upright!
I use this for my guitar that is up and readily available to play. So I first wanted a stand that required no special tricks to picking up and putting away the guitar. I can come quickly into the room, sweep up the guitar, play a bit and then place it back in the cradle without having to give it a thought. Well constructed and padded so my instrument is safe and will not get scratched. I recommend.
