Many of the stories lack a conventional plot arc. One such story involves some kids at a carnival. Their mom needs to rest so they go off to play rind toss and one of them almost gets abducted by a smelly man with a beard but thankfully the kids uncle had taught him self defense so he hits the attacker in the groin and escapes. Trust me, I make it sound better than it is, but when reading the story I was left feeling like there was no point to it. I feel like the author (s) had some great ideas but seem to struggle with coming up for endings for their stories.
I was also put off by the story in which all the churches in the country were burned down 50 years ago and now the country has become totally immoral to the point that now people hunt christian women for sport. Such a ridiculous story. Makes it seem like churches are the only thing keeping us safe from descending into anarchy. I prefer to believe that humans are not inherently evil murderers.
All in all a mixed bag. I suggest potential readers read the sample before purchasing.
