I can't decide how I feel about these booties. I bought them for my dog after she wore out her other pair (it was a different brand and was sort of hard to put on). I thought these looked like they were much easier to put on and pull off of her paws, and that they just looked more secure--and that they exactly are! They are very easy to put on and slip right off, and she seems to be extremely comfortable walking in them. The only problem I have with these boots is that after just two months (which I didn't use every day of--only on rainy, muddy days to keep her paws clean), there was already a hole on two of the four boots! The other pair that I had lasted over a year, and I expected the same if not longer from these especially because they were so much more expensive. It's kind of a disappointment, and since I refuse to have to buy a new pack so soon, I just keep stitching them up until I give in and buy another. I will likely look into other brands and read reviews more carefully after this incident.

On a lighter note, like stated above--I DO absolutely love the ease of getting these booties on and off. Just wish they'd last longer.

***UPDATE***

I contacted Muttluks customer service about this incident, and they were so helpful. They sent me a free replacement of my choice. I went with the fleece lined, since winter was on it's way and it is great! It is a thicker, denser material so it doesn't tear open as easily. They keep my dog's paws nice and warm in the harsh winters, and have kept up very well. I would definitely recommend getting the fleece-lined over the all weather any day!

These are great shoes for our Golden Retriever. We've used them hiking in the snow, and they really save his paws from getting ice balls stuck in the pads of his feet. He didn't fight them too much, and it took one hike for him to get used to them. Putting them on is easy too, and you can adjust them as tight as possible so they don't slip off or move around. The large fit our 100 lb. Golden with no problem.

I purchased the yellow all-weather Muttluks at my local pet store. I paid more there than I would have through Amazon, but I really needed something for my 8 year old White German Shepherd who underwent surgery for 5 ruptured discs. She still can't stand or support her weight on her own and I need to walk her around with the help of a harness on her back end. She drags her feet as she walks and her toes have sores that just wouldn't heal no matter how much I cleaned them and applied neosporin.

After getting the Muttluks, I can walk her up the road to the stop sign and back home again without fear of scraping her toes up. After 10 weeks she was so tired of seeing the backyard that the ability to just walk up the street and back a short distance did her a world of good! She would have kept going if I hadn't turned her around. She looked happy with her ears perked forward and just taking in the sights as we walked up the road.

The Muttluks are a little hard to get on, but that makes them a little bit better in my opinion. I've tried other brands of booties and they'd fall right off. I tried childrens socks and couldn't get them to stay on even with using the self stick elastic bandages wrapped as tightly as I dared without cutting off her circulation. These Muttluks stay on as long as I have the wrap pulled tight. I only needed one pair as only her hind feet need the protection right now but I have the other 2 boots to use as these two wear out.

My only complaint (other than the expense) is that the boot flips around so that the sole is on the top of her foot. No product is perfect and I can't fault the Muttluks for that.

First I was kind of nervous about ordering these after reading the reviews of them not fitting nor staying in, but after I ordered them, they came in a mesh bag, which you can use to store and wash them in, and my dog was hopping around at first looking confused, but now he sits and lets me put them on after the first day, and they stay on all day, as he can even run and play in them. I ordered a medium for my 16 month old 65 lb pit bull.

So far, I've been really pleased with these boots. There has been a lot of cold and snow in Ohio, and my foster dog (65 pound pitbull) has very little hair on his toes. He wears these to play in the yard and go out for walks. The medium size fits his front paws perfectly, but are just a tad big on his back feet.

Pros: relatively easy to get on, they're lightweight and he didn't freak out the first time he wore them, velcro straps let the boots get nice and snug, they stay on walking and running, and his feet are dry each time we get back inside
Cons: the sock part isn't too high, so deep snow will get in the boot, the leather sole is very slippery on hardwood floors and tile when wet

Last winter I started taking our Labradoodle (Jenna) for jaunts in the snow covered hills of Western Massachusetts. While she enjoyed bouncing through the snow, she didn't like it clumping up in her paws. I could see that it was clearly uncomfortable. When researching booties I started looking for an inexpensive set and started reading the reviews. As it turns out, fit and keeping them intact on your dogs feet are the two most important factors (as far as I can tell). The Muttluks come in different sizes to fit your dogs paws and have solid Velcro straps that you can crank down to keep them from slipping off the heel when they get up and start running.

The upper cuff snugs the lower leg and offers snow protection. While this is the first winter with them, she's gotten plenty of use from them and they are 'broken in' now. The leather sole has a slight abrasion which is helpful on slippery surfaces including ice. My only criticism would be that threads from the upper cuff have splayed off from vigorous use. A snip from some sharp scissors has taken care of that though, my expectation is that they won't unravel with continued use. They are a little on the pricier side but worth the money in my opinion.

PRODUCT UPDATE:

Quick update to this product: Regrettably I went through two sets of these booties this past winter. Though the New England winter 2013-2014 was one of the harshest on record it didn't stop my Labradoodle (Jenna) and I from braving it. Going out an average of two to three times a week in the snow, mud and frozen mud wreaked havoc on these. The black dye bled onto the yellow mid sole, the toe stitching came lose on multiple booties and the Velcro strap and upper sock frayed incessantly.
