They aren't the actual retro games like Galaga, Centipede,
but "similar" games that still try to mimic the classic games.
The kids play it for a long time since they can pick between 300 different games.
I've had it for a few months now and I still haven't tried every game.
I'm a PC Gamer so when that loading screen pops up or if I'm waiting for a match
I quickly boot up my Retro Arcade and have a few rounds.
Highly recommended for a gamer.
Anyone expecting FULL size quality or all (300) REAL Licensed games for <$30 are insane.
I got this on Clearance during Christmas to give as a gift.
I used it just to make sure it even worked before giving it away.
I was impressed MOST by the QUALITY of the screen.
I thought the box 'graphics' were going to be the typical DECEPTION where the ACTUAL machine screen and game quality would be way less/different (Like demos & intros to Most console games)
NOPE, 100% accurate.
The selections are huge and by genre.
I only played like 3-5 games.(I'm too busy with work)
BUT the controls as small as they are worked great, so yet another thing that (as a Electronics Technician) impressed me.
If your a small child/kid this would work even better than for adult (My huge hands/long fingers were still able to use it).
This is a solid WIN for personal (kill time) use or a great gift for any gaming fanatics or Retro lovers!
Also great for kids/family who can't afford an Xbox, Sony, or WII investment with additional $50 per game afterwards, etc.
(The Wii used to come with a Sports (12) games which justified it's purchase, don't know about the Wii-U)
Once in a blue (or 2017 Solar Eclipse) moon someone makes a product worth it's salt and this is one of those.
My only real complaint is that it's kind of small to play on a table but also somewhat bulky to hold. I find it easiest to play if you hold it in both hands and work the joystick and A/B buttons with your index fingers. The screen is nice and bright though and the graphics are colourful and easy to see, so you don't have to hold it two inches from your face to play. I think it's great fun, I look forward to taking it with me on road trips to kill time if stranded in the back seat.
