I found this album to follow through with the things I love most about Eminem (Marshall Mathers). He is simply pointing out the truth, once again. He is not trying to "poke a finger at mexican singers." In case you haven't noticed, he pokes fingers at everyone, including himself. The song itself is just pointing out the fact that the lead singer gets all the recognition, while the actual "band" is left in the dust. This "song" is to bring attention to D12, who without he would be almost nothing, and I'm proud of them for making this "song" to point that out! If they're paroding anyone, it's the boy bands, and they hit it right on. So once again, Get Over It!! If you don't like criticism (or the truth), don't buy anything Marhsall has made, with or without D12.

I don't care for anything by D-12&a Eminem Production is usually just to lite to carry any musical weight.Behind the Boards overall thus far in his career isn't His Strong suit.but the Concept of the Song is the truth because He overshadows everything they do&let's be real:they are like a Spinal Tap for Rap.not many people care about them minus Eminem that is just a fact. the Video was Funny though but the song stunk.

I'm so glad that Em & da rest of da dirty dozen are back to their old tricks. Some people whine & complian that Em became all hardcore, all gangsta, all crew & forgot about his roots. He ain't forgotten, just like the rest o' D12, who grew to the game wit the white wonder. Rememba tracks like "My Name Is", "Without Me" and "Purple Pills"? Yeah, you do! Those songs were playful, poking fun and an all round good time! Em & D are back at it again, keepin' it real, not gangsta, not hardcore, but what raps all about, the rhymes playa, the rhymes!!!

yah you people have to stop obsessing over the "culture insulting" and sht like that...if you dont like the song dont listen to it, its as simple as that, there are people making fun of american all over the world, and americans dont seem to know or care, this may seem ignorant but its the way to be because you dont get caught up in the BS. this is a pretty good song but the rest of the CD is 10 times better...also try their other CD Devils Night...the track "fight music" is the best...but dont listen to it if you get offended by the SH word :-0

I don't think that My Band was really a good display of D12's full effort; just listen to their older songs like Fight Music and Revelation!

The reason I give this single a 4 of 5 is because of the B-side, B N U. I don't know how this song didn't get on the D12 World album, but it's one of the best D12 songs without Eminem in it. Get this single over the ones with the video, it's much cheaper!

It's seems to me that anything Eminem touches instantly turns to gold, including this lame a$$ song. Don't get me wrong, there are some funny moments, but my honkey Em really needs to find a new voice because it's starting to grate on my nerves.

There a few bigger fans of Em's music than me (not a poster pinning fan, a MUSIC fan) and I constantly waiting for his first real "bomb" to show a chink in the armor. However, when I heard "My Band" I was laughing so hard I couldn't even finish the song. Don't you get it? The hook isn't supposed to be the hottest track out there---it's a mockery of boy bands. Unfortunately the younger generation has forgotten or never experienced the true essence of hip hop. There's humor, entertainment and message in real hip hop. MCs used to not be afraid to come up with different, original concepts. MCs used to just be them and not like the last 10 wack rappers who did the same thing. I can't even walk into a record shop now and easily pick up something to hear---because so much of it sucks. But Em and his Shady roster has brought a spark back to rap that is sorely missed. Why do you think they sell MILLIONS with no sweat? Because those of us between 25-30 have all the expendable dough and are dying for good hip hop again. If you don't think D12 is talented then you're not understanding rhyme flow and cadence. Sure they are severely overshadowed by Em but Marshall isn't going to put on just anyone. Everyone he's elevated has been an incredible talent. Biz's verses arent' supposed to be Talib Kweli deep---he's a contrast and compliment to the others. They are like supporting characters in a movie. Maybe this is way too much to say as a review of a CD single but the point needs to be made. "My Band" is an outstanding offer from Aftermath and I'm sure this new D12 is going to show a more mature and graduated group.
